Well it partly got weaker by default, but Picayune completely botching the head coaching hire certainly doesn’t help matters. I would absolutely love to be wrong and eat crow in regards to my opinion, but common sense tells me I won’t be eating any crow. I think you are spot on with your region 4 predictions. The only reason Picayune makes the playoffs this year is because they beat the teams beneath them. There was an expectation of excellence and a level of consistency when Dodd was the head coach and I feel like those things have gone by the wayside. There was absolutely no thought put into the hiring process and no one was brought in from the outside. I’ll always be a Maroon Tide fan, but until they get rid of the politics there won’t be a progression of Maroon Tide Football. If Stogner has a losing season this year (even if he makes the playoffs), there needs to be some serious discussions in regards to the trajectory of Maroon Tide Football.

Until Stogner proves otherwise, yes I would. I hate to be that blunt, but he’s got a lot to prove this year.

I will say this while I’m on my soap box. George County is going to thrive being back in 5A. They got dealt one of the worst hands possible while they were in 6A. They would definitely take Natchez to the woodshed if they had to play them.

I’m surprised that George County is nowhere to be found in the top 10 in 5A. I think they’ll be a thorn in the flesh for a lot of teams they face this year.

Glad you & Deonte found the new site. I’ll be completely honest with you, I have no idea what Picayune is or isn’t going to do this year, but I think they’ll make the playoffs. I haven’t seen our schedule for this year, but I look forward to our matchup with George County wherever that may be. If I had to call it now, I’d say they will probably beat us simply because of the way the wheels fell off for Picayune to end the season. As far as I’m concerned, the jury is still out on Stogner. He definitely has a lot to prove this year.

Can we get Vott & Deonte to chime in? I hope they’ve found the new site. I always enjoy their commentary.

I like the fact we can now send PM’s to folks. There was times I wanted to use that function on the 247 site, but couldn’t. I think you’ll have some more liberty with this site now versus before and that’s always a good thing.

I did too. It was a good site back then, but I'm glad we've got some functions we didn't have on the 247 site.

You're right. I totally had a brain fart and forgot about them. But yeah region 3 is going to be utterly brutal this year.

I think 5A would have to take the cake on this one. It's a war every Friday night, especially in 5A South. I'm curious to see who is going to come out of Region 3 unscathed this fall. With Hattiesburg, West Jones & Wayne County all in the same region this year, it will truly be survival of the fittest.
