I've been to numerous games than started at 7pm and seen the visiting band not even be to the stadium by kick off.

Instead of moving game times up to 7pm they should have pushed them back to 8pm for games in Aug. and first half of Sept.

USM is obviously the best choice in the State 1) stadium is perfect size, not too big or small, excellent site lines as stands as close to the field and pitched pretty steep. 2) Turf is perfect for any bad weather. 3) Plenty of Hotels and restaurants near the stadium. 4) Hattiesburg is between to the two largest population centers in the State, Jackson & the Coast with excellent highways in all directions. 5) and the pine belt area around Hattiesburg is an absolute hot bed of High School football.

How ridiculous to only have 4 conference games. As I've said before, there really are no longer any State champions, just the best of 23 other teams.

How will O.G. do at Hoover?

I would rather get home 30 minutes later on a hot august night to be a little more comfortable at the game, especially if you are sitting on the side of field facing the setting sun. Also I've been to games where the road team band didn't even get to the game until the end of the first quarter so apparently they need more time to make the trip and get in the stands too.

If your gonna start the season in mid August then it's crazy to start games at 7 pm. It's ok by second half of September.

If Meridian is playing Pearl last game of the season when is the eat dirt game between Pearl & Brandon?

Marcus was the perfect person for the Meridian job and the Meridian job was the perfect job for Marcus. He loves to program build and Meridian was down. However the talent is there to work with. And he said retirement made him realize he's a football coach and that's what makes him happy.

It takes 4 things for a successful program in Meridian: 1) athletes - check 2) training facilities - good but needs improving 3) motivation of these athletes to want to compete at a high level 4) coaching to teach these athletes how to perform at a high level The last two are exactly what Marcus Boyles excels in.

going to 7 classes is Mississippi about the stupidest thing they could have done. All divisions are now weaker and no one will really be able to claim a state championship. All you really are is better than 23 others teams.

For decades the one thing that all Meridianites, black & white, took pride in was the football team. Meridian has no college team in town so the high school team was always the main attraction. However, over the past 5 or 6 years or so the white community had stopped going to the games as crime seemed to increase around the school and the football team floundered. This hire has the potential to revitalize the football program which in turn could lead to the revitalization of the entire city. It could get many of the white alumni, still living in the area, back in the stadium on Friday nights. This thing can be turned around if the entire city can get behind it. I can't think of a better person for the job than Marcus Boyles.

Once Picayune squandered half of the 3rd Q on a long dive that come up empty, all west jones had to do was run run run. The west jones defense was playing good enough and Picayune's offense needed a lot of time to move the length of the field, the time would have just ran out on Picayune or they would've had to ditch their strong running game. I am shocked the west jones coaching staff played right into the hands of Picayune.
