It's a very sad day to be a Bulldog. My heart just goes out to his family and especially his grandchildren. Life is such a fragile thing.

There’s fixing to be a shift in football and the coast will no longer be the punchline.

What a legacy he has left on college football. Praying for his family

He is the most important coach in college football because of his dry wit, innovative knowledge of the game, his unusual resume of having a law degree and never having played college football as a player (did play rugby at BYU), his ability to win as the HC at Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State, his vast knowledge and the willingness to speak his mind in a way to use dry analogies to make his point. Then underneath all that is a great football mind and very good coach. For the most part players love playing for him and coaches enjoy coaching under his tutelage. Finally, in this day and age of sensitivity and coming out of the dark days of COVID, he is a refreshing breath of fresh air for college football fans across the country. His importance goes beyond wins and losses.

I am so grateful for the three years Mike Leach was the head coach of my alma mater. You will never be forgotten, Pirate.

Mike Leach has passed at age 61. Sad times.
