Definitely pleasantly surprised. We knew the team would be improved but nobody, I mean nobody expected the result from Friday night. Coach Vance has gotten the kids to play together. Also off the field the kids are showing good character. We will see if we can build on this as the season moves forward. SE Lauderdale appears to be improved. Lanier beating Harrison Central was a surprise. West Lauderdale getting waxed by Seminary was an eye opener. GPT beating Yune was not a surprise but by a blow out and shut out was.

Louisville not putting up no 41 pts on Shannon defense and it will be very much competitiveness game than that score say and it won't be no easy game for Louisville like they thought it was going to be last year and it didn't and Shannon going to come very mentally prepared and very well coached team and Shannon don't get a lot of respect and Shannon like that no pressure on Shannon and they're going to be under the radar this year

Don’t think Starkville/WP will score 37 points combined. I do favor Starkville to win but in a much lower score overall.

Plus, it made no sense to take it to overtime. It was a meaningless game. Wanna try to end it right there and not expose anymore of your team to risk of being injured. It was the smart move.

I am going to add this Slick I hope you don’t mind. People that are questioning going for two with seven seconds instead of playing for the tie. Remember the high school overtime rule places the ball on the ten yard line. I just believe Coach Lampley thinks we had a better chance of getting two point conversion than stopping them from ten yards out.

For the record, I never said West would blow out Laurel. I did say several times I thought the offense would be fine. And it was, other than 1st game penalties. I also said I was anxious/concerned about the defense. And boy, was that validated last night. They will have to move some guys up, sit some guys down, and possibly pull some from offense. And some Nutcracker drills Tuesday wouldn't hurt either.

Once Region play starts West Jones Picayune and Hattiesburg will be fine. They are still some non region games that are either probable or possible losses for all of us.

No. It was 20-7 at half. Lead 28 14 and 34 21. The Petal game is flushed for me. Its Little Brown Jug week now. I just hope losing the way HHS did wont carry over to next week. Laurel will be coming in riding high.

First off, let me say, coach Feaster , his team, the PRC faithful all class man… They approach the game the way it’s supposed to be done. I can’t say about any improvements PRC should focus on because I don’t know how they looked last season. What Pound has done with our offense in just a couple of months is miraculous. It resembles nothing like that stale loaf of bread. We were forced to watch the last few years. There’s a lot to work on. A lot of those kids had never played a snap on varsity. They need to catch better, but that will come. They are handful now and will only improve going forward The defense needs depth and experience. They got handled by an experienced offense. To anybody that pays attention that’s coming too. Our freshman defensive line is filthy. I expect them to be worked in soon. Wayne County has their fight back. Most people thought that game was over. The way they went down that field in a minute or less I’m not exact on the time, but it wouldn’t much looked like old times. We were a two point conversion away from winning it. We’ve been missing that fight. By seasons end, neither team will probably even remember this game. I expect to give some so-called favorites in 5A south a run for their money and maybe even break a few hearts. Pay attention. One other thing before this week gets put to bed. A lot of teams Tracey applied to in the last few seasons passed over him. They are going to regret it. Some may already.

It was a decent game. OG had several chances to win it. Having the jamboree get cancelled last week certainly didn’t help and they didn’t look as good out the gate as I thought they would with so many seniors. Will be interesting to see if they bounce back against a really good Germantown team.

I listened to some of the MRA game up in Tennessee on the radio driving home from work last Friday. I believe they are not as good this year.

The only real surprises for me last night was JDC almost beating MRA and Enterprise Lincoln beating North Forrest.

I have been telling people Enterprise had most of last year's team coming back and we would be better; I think we have a legitimate shot at going 4-0: Stringer is probably the best team we'll play until South Jones.
