Well, last weekend was nuts. Should be more tame this weekend but who the heck knows. Ole Miss at Texas - two teams that seem to be trending in opposite directions. Part of me wonders if Texas is too talented to lose 3 in a row, but heck they’re fortunate to only have 2 losses right now really and truly. Ole Miss has the played its best football the last two weeks, and is definitely the trendy pick here with Texas having some injuries. Genuinely torn on this one, but I’m gonna take Texas to have a get right game at home and win 30-24. Oklahoma at State - is Kamario playing? Answer that question and I’ll tell you who I think wins. I think this game is going to be sloppy regardless. If it’s Puckett vs Mateer then the sequel to 3-2 is in play. The talk as we sit here today seems to be leaning toward Kamario plays. If he does, I trust him to make more plays than the OU offense. This prediction doesn’t count if Kamario is out, but I’m taking State 24-20 in this one. LSU at Auburn - well, this one is suddenly more interesting than anyone expected. Can LSU finally win one on the road? I lean yes. I am currently of mind that AU’s win last week was kinda fluky and I want to see them play well two weeks in a row. But I have LSU winning this one something like 28-17. Tennessee at South Carolina - in a season full of lessons games, this feels like one for sure. SC is even favored here. It seems like SC found a little something in that Florida game, and I think they are a talented team even with the slow start. I’m taking SC at home by a field goal. Texas A&M at Bama - tough couple of weeks for the Tide, but A&M stinks. Bama by 3 TD’s. Vandy at Kentucky - yall ready to talk to your kids about 7-1 Kentucky? Because that’s about to be a thing. Cats have big November full of meaningful games, don’t think they’ll have any issues with Vandy. I can’t in good conscience pick a team that lost to the 2026 Arkansas razorbacks

Oh, I am sure there is - but would they come to PRCC? I highly doubt they could entice the HFC from Northwest, Co-Lin, Hinds, Jones, or MGCCC to come there. Itawamba, Holmes and ECCC may be ones to keep an eye on. but are they worth bringing in? Other than that, I feel like you are kind of boxed in with who you can get. Pennock is brash and cocky enough to think he can do it. No pun intended but I think he is a good recruiter and he knows the area. His personality is much more adaptable to the collegiate level than I thought Seth Smith's was. He has some college experience from his time at USM. I could see it honestly, especially if the pay is close to what he is getting from Gulfport. I will say this, I do NOT see him going if he was offered the job, but I would not be surprised if he did. -
Wayne County - 450K+ R 2-0 East Central bringing wings up to homecoming

I think Tracy and his staff are doing one heck of a job! These kids are responding and thrill is in the air. Folks I got a real good feeling about this. As ole Maverick said, "It's lookin good so far!" Let's get it -
East Central is 2-0. Winner gets the leg up in the region at 3-0. George County ran over our defense a few weeks ago with the same grind offense. We were forced to watch for what feels like the last twenty years an after version of it, It's now known as wal mart scooter old man offense. It was horrible . That Vancleave team WC just steam rolled bullied our team and beat their arse. All that saying the offense they are bringing into our stadium needs to be officially buried. EC just happens to line up with that timeline. This will be the biggest game Pound has coached. Biggest for most of our team too. EC will have to score forty just to be even

that does make sense. they do want him gone. people have already tested his stance on willingness to move on. He sent word back and that was the end of it. A lot of schools passed over him during the last several years. . Tracy has never been a self promoter.. He is a shrewd winner though and will leave you crying if you underestimate him. I am trying to keep my enthusiasm tempered for now, but at some point, it is what it is. They are about to be able to throw just as efficient as rushing. Seven seniors on this team. so no pound is not going anywhere until he finishes what he had planned to do when he applied for the job.

Pennock might be a high school coach, but I think we all see he knows how to recruit. -

Is there not an established successful JUCO coach they can go after? I'd be curious to know what checks the boxes for them in Pennock, to be honest. -

Why would he leave WC after turning things around? You are in 5A south. Brookhaven will cycle back down to some leaner years. Their history has proven that. Laurel is in the midst of the final scene from Thelma and Louise. And West Point is apparently no longer West Point. You might say for more money, but WC has enough of that and has spent in the past. They were the 1st school in this area to build a big stadium years ago that rivaled no one else. -

You are a freaking moron. Lampley is home. He is there for as long as he wants to be. This board is so much better when you are not on it. You just need to go away. From here on out anything posted by you will be totally ignored by me. -

I never understood why EVERY SINGLE ONE of y’all picked against Petal at home at last week. And it didn’t make sense to me why OG seemed to be the huge upset opportunity at their own hoco. Even when the older Hill boy was Meridian’s offense a couple of years ago, OG beat Meridian at Meridian. And the last time Meridian beat OG was a decade ago. So all the chatter on this one seemed more like OG hate than anything else. And for whatever reason they seemed to get a lot of hate surrounding this game. (IMHO, Vance is a big part of that leftover from his HHS days…) Both games had missed calls and both games had coaches who were HOT about it. But in the end the teams who lost just didn’t do what they needed to get the job done when it all came down. You can’t fault refs for missed kicks. And in the end, that was your ballgame in both places (notwithstanding the OG touchdown with a minute left that was not called as a touchdown). -

And that's all good, but to Vott's point they need to get someone in there to recruit the area. This is a hot bed for talent and usually you see the athletes here in Pearl River County go elsewhere. The only ones you see from this area that go to The River are usually ones that want to stay close to home, which is fine, but whoever the next coach is needs to invest in spending time recruiting the area. There's too much talent here to let it slip through the cracks and not do anything about it. -

This is one time that hiring within the program was the right thing to do. By 2028 WC will be all the way back to where they were when Lampley was a player himself. -

Yes it's new this year due to teacher shortages. I believe it's only like 30-90 days not 6 months out and draw like 60% of regular pay. I forgot the Bill # that passed
