  2. Going into the game Saturday I think State had 8 starters out on both sides. Swan was having a pretty good game and the offense was consistently better before his injury. Every team goes through injuries, but losing a QB the likes of KT is hard to overcome. No one has a back up of that quality ready to play, especially in the portal ear. Even Ohio State QB play dropped off and they lost. This was a good football team prior to KT's injury. Look at the dominating wins over Minn, SC, and Mizzu. With KT State is probably 5-3 at worst. Lebby needs to make a change at OL coach. Loderhoult's recruiting hasn't been good enough to overcome his deficiency as oline coach. There has been improvement overall since Lebby got here. The defensive talent when he got here was terrible with a few exceptions, they are improving under Arnett. As bad as the Oline has been when they play just decent, we have seen over the last two years what this offense can do. We MUST go get some dudes up front on both sides of the ball for next year. Then if it isn't better, make a change. I really don't think KT stays without Lebby, with Lebby I would put it at 95% he stays.
  3. Today
  4. Yep. Both turned Raleigh down. As did Ittawamba AHS
  5. There isn't an easy way to get to Natchez either, especially from Picayune. I remember when we were in the region with Natchez. It was charter buses every week LOL.
  6. Vott

    7A make up

Just think what Natchez goes thru every year midweek when they have to travel to Sumrall Laurel and South Jones. BRUTAL
  7. Great post. This honestly makes the most sense by far.
  8. I know football coaches who are now dropping competition because they know the opponent will be a very good team the next few years. just weak and running from good comp
  9. Oxford and Tupelo would have a large reduction in travel if they were put in a 7 team region with the desoto schools. Starkville and Meridian are both kind of isolated. I don’t think you can ask Harrison Central to go to Brandon, Meridian, NWR for mid week baseball, softball, basketball games. I think this would make the most sense. Region 1 (7) Hernando Desoto Central Lewisburg Southaven Horn Lake Oxford Tupelo Region 2 (5) Germantown Madison Clinton Starkville Murrah Region 3 (5) Brandon NWR Meridian Oak Grove Petal Region 4 (7) Harrison West Harrison D’Ville Gulfport Ocean Springs Biloxi St Martin
  10. They would have 4 Edwards, Northside, Charleston, Riverside, Plamer
  11. 7 others in MHSAA were open including Scott Central and Hazlehurst.
  12. I do think State can make improvements regarding the offensive line and coaching of the offensive line. Loadholt has been as effective as a lead weight on fishing line. At least he's done what a lead weight should do if that's any consolation to you.
  13. I think common sense dictates that he gets one more year with the expectation that we are going to dramatically strengthen the roster with enough depth to withstand injuries and especially upgrade the offense line. Defensively I think we will be in good shape going forward with the same expectation of developing better depth. Given all that has happened this year, it is easy for fans to pile on and be sarcastic and demeaning where he is concerned. IMO that does not help the situation any. I am going to hang in there with this team and see how the year finishes out. Growing up in the 1960’s when we had zero success (with the exception of 1963), we are light years better today even with the current struggles this team is having currently. As I mentioned before, a win Saturday will do wonders for everyone.
  14. The SEC’s non conference record is almost flawless. I think only two losses to date so I think that will carry a lot of weight in the selection process. I think you could see one or possibly even two SEC teams with three losses in the playoff just based off schedule strength.
  15. I don't see any way that 4 doesn't have 7 again. No one down here wants that travel for all their sports. West Harrison and Harrison Central are the same distance for pretty much everyone, while d'Iberville is the most centrally located and equal for everyone except St. Martin.
  16. That's right. The stance is soft. Like Lebby standing on quicksand soft.
  17. Make the Lebby Layups. It's just that simple.
  18. oh they'll strain to get a 3 loss bama team in after kiffin wins saturday afternoon. they are not expecting pete to beat kirby saturday either. If that happens its a full open can of uh oh.
  19. He can start receiving payments on the 50 mil they owe him and smile almost like he's jimbo fisher
  20. I've observed a crew this season with guys over 50 stand around and have a 6 minute discussion after 2 of them dropped a flag but the white hat didn't know how to administer the penalty. The white hat is 62 years old. the back judge who clarified the situation is 29 years old.
  21. With most districts only having 5 teams, every team has a week once district play starts where you don’t have anybody to play in district. So in order to find somebody, you are limited to only the teams from other districts who also happen to not have a district game that week. It’s a lot harder to find people to play because the majority of teams are locked into a district game. You just have to hope your non district week lines up with somebody else’s that is willing to play. Like Bert said. When Forest dropped Raleigh in the middle of the two year cycle. It was impossible for Raleigh to find anybody
  22. Forest dropped the Raleigh game. Coach called 3 other coaches and got a no response. Bay Springs coach dropped us because our boys hit theirs so hard they can't take the pain. Coaches are playing their buddies now in some cases orcoaches they went to school with.
  23. It’s ridiculous there are three zero win teams in the “playoffs”. Go back to 4 regions for 1A or take the top 2 teams because this is stupid. Also so, so many teams aren’t playing ten games anymore. Why? I see a lot of nine game teams and some who played eight. What would the reason be?
  24. After thinking about it I came up with this due to mileage, etc. Region 1 Alcorn Central Belmont Kossuth Nettleton Ripley Region 2 Holly Springs Independence North Panola North Tippah Rosa Fort Region 3 Amanda Elzy Coahoma County Humphreys County O'Bannon Yazoo County Region 4 Choctaw County Noxubee County Pisgah Union Winona Region 5 Clarkdale Quitman Raleigh Seminary SE Lauderdale Region 6 Crystal Springs Magee Mclaurin Mendenhall St Andrew's Region 7 Franklin County Hazlehurst Jefferson County Port Gipson Tylertown Region 8 JDC PCS OLA St Patrick West Marion
  25. The only option i see is Region adds Nettleton for 6 teams. Region 2 is 5 teams. Region 3 gets Winona and Choctaw County for 5 teams. Noxubee goes to Region 5. We get a new Region 6 that includes Yazoo County, St Andrew's, Pisgah, McLaurin, Magee, Mendenhall, and Raleigh. Region 7 stays. Region 8 adds JDC and Seminary.
  26. St Andrew's to O'bannon is 2 hours. Union to Winona is 1 hr 50 minutes. I Isee Nettleton staying in Region 4 because its 1 hour and 14 minutes from Macon or Noxubee.
  27. If they're going to have three five team regions and a four team region, it makes zero sense to not have St. Andrews in three. Which is why they won't do that. It'll be 6 5 4 4
