I'd say the private schools pushed back big time. The fact is these schools have competed for years in the association and while some have been very successful in several sports, it wasn't until PCS beat Booneville in the baseball finals last season that it was ever mentioned. It was short sighted, knee jerk reaction by the MHSAA. A similar thing happened years back when Cathedral, St.Al, and Greenville St Joe's left for the MAIS because they could no longer allow kids to play who lived across the river in Arkansas and Louisiana. Again, a knee jerk reaction by a few upset coaches in the MHSAA. I'm glad the MHSAA has reversed the ruling for now. Now, to get us back to 5 classes among the remaining member schools.

ejections before half for unsportsmanlike conduct from both teams. then fighting in the handshake line led to caroll parish players fighting in the stands with assumption fans as well. Assumptions season wasn't ended but they now have to play their home games on the road the remainder of this season.

Off week for State and USM played on a Tuesday for some reason, so the Rebels are the only in-state team to watch this weekend. Ole Miss at Vandy - side rant, as someone who grew up in the era where Ole Miss vs Vandy was annually one of the weirdest games of every college football season, it is a dang shame we never got Pavia era Vandy vs Kiffin era Ole Miss. Those games would have been ridiculous. Anyway, OM a 10 point road favorite in this one.
