Is Biloxi supposed to be that bad? I just took a shot in the dark on those predictions in Region 4. I kinda have an idea on Region 3 since I live in Hattiesburg

Ocean Springs will be the best team on the coast. HC has a really good QB that will have them in the thick of things. Goula is always pretty tough. I think Diberville will take a step back.

Maybe.  If Hubbard takes the next step, then they will be very difficult to defend but, typically, they don't have much speed on defense.

Biloxi graduated the only playmaker they've had in many a year.

Pascagoula will be difficult to defend but better find some defense in order to compete for a playoff spot.

I'm not sure this is accurate.. doesn't Biloxi have a dandy dozen that is committed to an SEC school? Goula and OS will be good.. Diberville and Gulfport will always be tough in the division.

Does he play on offense for Biloxi?

Region 4-6A

Ocean Springs - Brings back a ton on offense. Will need to replace some key players on defense, but will be tough no matter what. I expect Ocean Springs to take the region fairly easy.

Harrison Central - Bring back a decent amount of their offense led by a really great player in their QB. Defense lost a ton of starters and they will be rebuilding there. I expect them to be pretty good regardless.

Pascagoula - Brings back a lot on offense that was really good a year ago. Defense lost some players so they will have to mature fast on that side of the ball, but I expect them to be really good for the most part.

d'Iberville - I expect them to be really tough. Lost some players on both sides, but return some as well. I think they will be a gritty, physical team that is a playmaker or two away from being a great team. In my opinion, they have the best HFC in the region and that will help them a lot as the season progresses.

Biloxi - Lost their bet overall player. Tons of great looking kids take the field for them every Friday night, but they find a way to underachieve. I expect a lot of the same this year. Some talented players, but they end up just missing out on the playoffs.

Gulfport - Word on them out of spring is they are retooling and will struggle some this year. Gulfport is notorious for having kids move in so they could have picked up some talented players this summer. I expect them to have some talent and play hard, but I am not sold on them based on what I have heard.

Hancock - Hard nosed kids. Will play tough. Just do not have the same quality of athletes. I suspect they will jump up and surprise a team or two in the region, but overall I expect a season similar to what we have seen from them most years. Competitive, just not enough to get it done.

St. Martin - They are having to replace their best offensive weapon from last season. Noreel White is the REAL DEAL. He will be special for them, but I am afraid he might quite literally be all they have, on both sides of the ball. Hearing the talent pool at St. Martin is running dry at the moment. I expect this to be Eddie Wayne Whitehead's final season unless they shock the coast and make a nice run.

Whitehead is retiring after this season.  This has been confirmed to me by a long time teacher in the district who is in the know.

Ocean Springs will win this district if the defense carries a bit of weight.  Pascagoula was terrible defensively last year yet almost won 5A south due to the dynamism of Parnell so they will be difficult to handle offensively.

Honestly, I'm unaware about the rest of the region but Gulfport has been the most underachieving program in Mississippi over the last 40 years given the typical quality of athlete to student ratio in their enrollment.  Their incompetent coaching is unchanged so they will compete but not to their full potential.  Biloxi is lacking for playmakers offensively now that Kendrick has graduated so they likely struggle scoring points.  Cain is the best coach HC has ever had so they will be a tough out.  d'Iberville, well, their success speaks for itself.

Hey Pee Wee,where have you been hiding? You were the only Pearl poster on here for the longest.  Pearl will be a tough out come playoff time because of the RB Thompson.  Asking high school LB’s to tackle a 6’2” 230 lb. RB 40 times a game is a tall task.  He wore Meridian down by himself.

As of now,OG,Brandon,Pearl, and Meridian are the top 4 teams in Region 3.  There's a lot of football left to play, and I think Warren Central could possibly get back into the playoff hunt.

So you’re thinking that’s the likely finishing order in that region? I’m trying to figure out early favorites to see how region 4 might match up. I know the history, so I’m not even going to talk about winning head to head, but Ocean Springs is looking pretty good right now, and unless d’Iberville changes course, they might be down at four. That leaves Gulfport and Harrison Central somewhere in the middle right now. Lots of football left to be played, though.

You notice that he turned form star to super star between boards?

Hey David,I’ll take a guess at the 1st round playoff matchups. There is still a lot of football to be played though.

4 Meridian vs 1 OS

3 Brandon vs 2 D’Iberville

4 Harrison Central vs 1 OG

3 Gulfport vs 2 Pearl

That would be interesting! Gulfport and Pearl played close  earlier this year, and I believe that Harrison Central went against OG in last year’s playoffs. Meridian has been down a few years, but we’ll learn a lot when they play OG this week. d’Iberville can’t be as bad as they looked last week, so them and Brandon might be a good matchup. We all know that region four hasn’t had much success. Maybe this year, with a couple of good chances.
