What if Puckett or Pelehatchi get back to where they were? I don’t think a gold ball has ever came through Pisgah..

Pisgah no but they have the most recent success. I might not ought to say this but I saw a player maybe 6 or 7 years ago now walk up to the fence and tell a friend that coach can teach all he wants when I am on the field I am playing my way. Some of its the coaching some of its the players. The rest is lack of talent.

All three have had decent teams in the last few years. Sam Williams had Hatchi rolling, 2015 Puckett was loaded, and Pisgah had a running back about 5 years ago that was as good as any RB in the state at that time.

What about Forest? Is it possible to bring that program back?

Right coach, the culture has changed. He needs a Hispanic asst coach. The schools in Scott County are becoming largely Hispanic. The white kids are outside of Forest for the most part. It will take some time. Otherwise a small roster of mostly black kids will have to suffice. Not being racist here. It needs to start at the youth level.

Goodness.  How many more blows can Moss Point take?  I remember when they were on top of the world beating the South Panolas and the like and there was no love lost when we played them too.

I am afraid their descent will not be slowing down either. Their last bit of real talent is graduating and I have been told that next year’s group could be the worst team Moss Point has fielded in a long, long time.

When you take the history of what Moss Point was and see where it is now it’s a sad state of affairs.  I know when we played them it was always a tough ballgame and if anyone is a fan of Mississippi High School football in general it’s very sad to see this happen to them.

Before Hattiesburg started playing Petal and Oak Grove on a regular basis, there were only 2 games that most HHS fans circled on the schedule. Laurel and Moss Point. In 1996 or 1998 HHS was hosting Moss Point and word got out that there was nothing but a blue and white convoy of vehicles coming from HWY 98 and 49 headed to Hattiesburg. Sure enough before classes were dismissed for the day, Moss Point fans were set up outside the stadium off campus tailgating at about 2 in the afternoon. I hated that the HHS-Moss Point series ended because that was a trip I enjoyed. Dantzler Stadium has one of the best settings at a high school where you are able to look out across the Escatawpa River.

And if you won a game at Dantzler you accomplished something.

If you won a game there you took of your team"s colors and had on something blue to make believe you were a Moss Point fan. Then when you got to your vehicle you celebrated. LOL
