You have 41 teams listed with 6 in region 1. 2 through 4 A will have 40 teams and 5 per region. Iif there is a basketball only team then there will 4 football schools plus the bb only school and all will make playoffs.

Yes he does, you would just remove new site as they are the lowest number.

I understand that. I have a tie at the bottom. Previous administration has sent ties up and not down. Currently Laurel is the 33rd team in 5A. The bottom teams were tied. So keeping with that brain thought I sent them up. Also Rumor has it that Murrah has opted to go independent in either 7A or 6A. Someone in each class is most likely moving up and even more so if St Andrew's, St Patrick, and Sacred Heart stay independent. They passed that rule that you play independent in all sports now. So we really don't know how things will shake out. Try putting 9 or 10 non football schools in 1A north in a 6 or 7 eight ream region. Do you send 3 here and 3 younder.

I never have understood why teams want to play independent and not give themselves a chance to make the playoffs.

IF a team would have to be independent in all sports, I'd be shocked to see anyone do it. Murrah is a strong basketball school and one of the most successful historically. I just can't see them giving that up.

St. Andrew's too is dominant in many other sports outside of football and it's unlikely they would want to give that up as well to play independent in everything.

The lowest numbers are tied. Also rumor has Jackson Murrah is going Independent. So top team moves up in all classes.

Who do you have tied? I don’t see any ties on my sheet.  I do not have Murrah out, I’m counting them. So if they are out, East webster is 3a

Last years numbers were the same at the bottom of 2A. Word has it that Murrah is going independent.  I don't see it because of their basketball teams have won state before.

Correct, I asked my principal about independent and if all sports had to go and he was unsure.  It is not in the handbook as far as I could find, so I’m taking your word on that.  No reason to go Independent

They passed that ruling in April and will go in affect with this reclassification year 2022-23.

Add Jackson murrah to your count for this re-class.  If they stay independent next re-class, all sports will be independent.

Then we may see what the director may do with tied teams. The proposal was 40. His podcast in January he stated appx 40. We shall see. Perhaps 1 school will be given the option and the other have to except or get the next option to stay down.
