Beating a projected top ten 4A school by 23 on the road is def a surprise. Cleveland Central beating Clarksdale isn’t surprising based off what CC returned and Clarksdale lost but beating them 42-0 is surprising. Chunky6617 Posted August 31, 2024 Share Posted August 31, 2024 (edited) I’m not surprised that Mize beat Taylorsville. I felt pretty good about our chances. But I am surprised at the score. And honestly the score should have been alot worse. We made quite a few mistakes on offense that took touchdowns off the board. It’s gonna be a rough 6 games for Taylorsville. They will probably be 0-6 once they get into district play. They have a good starting group, but they have no backups at all, and right now in this heat that’s going to really hurt them. It’s hard to get a gauge on them right now because they’ve played two tough defending state champions and have another one next week. They’ve yet to score this year though. Their starters are really good, but when they get tired there is nobody that can sub out for them without there being a big drop off.
