s1nglewing
By the way, there is a thing happening on May 14 (from Coach Nolden's FB): https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1356049631562969&set=gm.1177641666371403
IRONEagle
Give it up man. Just because I don’t spell it out for you in elementary terms don’t mean you’ll come on here and spread false info. Like I said, what they meant for bad has turned into good. West Bolivar had a great turnout for Day 1. But since you want to share a FB post, why is the team not practicing today and tomorrow when yesterday was there first practice since November? A team has 20 days to get in 15 practices during the Spring. So if WB plays in this game it will mean they haven’t even practiced 15 days. But guess what this determined group of young players did.. they are getting together off campus and working out on their own! I haven’t seen a more determined group of young men in awhile at WB. It’s so much excitement to where a few football players that advance to the State Track meet had to be pulled off the field by another coach because they claim they either missed track practice or can’t workout until next week. Either way, I’ve seen athletes do this when the coaches recognize it’s about the kids future and not about them. Singlewing I’m sure you’ll find a way to make this about you and whoever you are defending but it’s done. West Bolivar is back..
s1nglewing
Leland should be a good measuring stick for West Bolivar.
pancho
so i guess the current HC who won't be there this fall isn't a winner. Do the superintendent and school board know this and why would they hire a non winner with all them SEC athletes just walking the halls daily? pancho
Is WB 1A or 2A? these other schools need to be prepared for the onslaught of talent they will be forced to go up against. I mean if they have a coach.

IRONEagle
No Leland won’t be a good measuring stick for West Bolivar with the group I saw today.. calling their own practice. These kids are as talented as you’ll see in small school classifications 1A-3A next season. All freshmen and sophomores basically that called a player led workout session! Get your popcorn ready.. Pistolpete
Calling their own practice?.. I didn’t know they still made kids like that to call their own practice on an off day…
IRONEagle
After months of waiting without players working out and officials in the school building/athletic administration being aware.. West Bolivar finally has posted the High School Head Football job on the district website. It’s still not on the MHSAA website. I guess having approximately 30 players come out for Spring Practice and one day calling their own practice forced these people hand to do what is right. There’s a buzz at West Bolivar for football.. this is a football town. One Coach has even called a tryout of another sport to stop the momentum on the same day these players are practicing for their spring game. I can’t make this stuff up.. but as long as they have folks covering for them I guess we’ll see “congratulations” and “good job boys” when the wins start coming because this is the most determined group I’ve seen in a few years. I hope these kids can overcome the obstacles and be a part of something special. Edited May 4, 2022 by IRONEagle
pancho
Imma lettin erbody know now......state champs next year gone be WB since they loaded. is approximately 30 really mean like 26 players or like 34 players? The new HC(to be determined at a later date) need to know the personnel numbers when he interviews.
IRONEagle
There’s something wrong with people (one or two is too many) constantly making sarcastic remarks about a football program being severely mismanaged and/or players being neglected for me.. what’s funny about making jokes when these things have been foreshadowed for months prior to an official announcement being posted. These student athletes deserve the same opportunity as many others have received through sound / quality coaching to compete in this Interscholastic Sport. This is not a coincidence. Five times since 2015-2016 in both Jr. High and High School. Instead of showing humility and being sympathetic towards how this impacts the pupils at this school it’s jokes being made about my comments for shading light on the issues. As a society, we got to do better about giving back in any way, shape, or form to less fortunate and underserved communities. The high school football tradition is what instilled pride in Rosedale, MS.
pancho
Is the HC a planned deal or do they have no idea who the HC will be? Are there several applicants with HC experience applying for the position?

IRONEagle
West Bolivar plays their Spring game tomorrow morning.. here’s what I want people to pay attention to. Despite knowing that there will be a coaching change and working collaboratively with schools officials and stakeholders to hire a good staff to prepare the team in the spring and summer the Athletic & Building Admin clearly ignored the situation intentionally. As a result, tomorrow West Bolivar will be playing a spring game with (2) Varsity coaches on the sideline and just 10 days or so of Spring practice. The Jr. High also has openings for football not even being advertised but are conducting basketball workouts after school. In addition, in the same district look closely during the game at the number of coaches that will be on the sidelines when McEvans play.. a school in the same district as West Bolivar. I’m willing to wage a bet that the Athletic Coordinator will have on some McEvans attire/ or colors when he attends their game. No such thing has ever happened while attending ANY West Bolivar athletic event. The same Athletic Coordinator who last season of coaching ended with a 1-8 record at Ray Brooks following multiple losing seasons elsewhere. One day we’ll witness people having to answer for what they’ve done to these kids future at West Bolivar. Edit to say: They going to put this one in their local group chat. The ship has sunk. Can’t keep strong and moral people from doing right be those who can’t stand up for themselves nor have anyone else willing to do the work. IRONEagle
You hear that a Athletic Coordinator is knowingly avoiding a search for hiring quality candidates in an area where there’s a dire teacher shortage due to a refusal to advertise the multiple football vacancies.. and your first response is that a former 8 man football program also has two coaches.. how is that even relevant? s1nglewing
"West Bolivar will be playing a spring game with (2) Varsity coaches on the sideline and just 10 days or so of Spring practice." I made no comment about your rantings, just about football, since the forum is about football. And NSA is still an 8-man program.

IRONEagle
If you folks on here actually had a good sense of humor it would make sense. I’m feeling great about West Bolivar players.. several camps already lined up. Trainers scheduling workouts with the best 2025 athlete in the Delta and top 5 ATH in ‘25. The whole team isn’t playing today but come August West Bolivar will have the biggest offensive line in 1A North. Go ahead and laugh now, cry later.
