Hey Dub,Meridian beat Newton Co. in a scrimmage format 24-6 that included varsity and jv in the spring game.  Our OL and DL looked better than the last few years but still need work.

We're faster on both sides of the ball as well.  It was just a spring game, but I think we'll contend for a playoff spot.

Varsity score was 18-6. JV was 6-0. y’all looked much improved possible playoff and a top 2 seed in 22. If Newton county feeds 14 and gets their RB back they will be ok as well.

Poplarville plays at Waynesboro this Friday. I don’t even know how spring practice is looking. I do know Coach wanted to play someone besides a wing t . They may have got someone else to come too I’m not sure. They used to put videos of them hitting and practicing on Facebook and other info at least once a week but all the coverage has kind of dried up.

Don’t really know what going on over at Philadelphia but they will be a little down this year! Not the same caliber team that you see from recent years! Louisville lead 30-0 after one quarter and then put the JV in and it ended up being 44-0 after one half of football!

Long Beach looked pretty bad overall. Decent size to some of the players, but overall, Pascagoula outmatched them easily even without several starters not participating. Goula's 8th grade QB did okay I thought. Gives some hope after Parnell leaves in 2 years. Defense played well. Was very aggressive and blitzed a lot. Gave up a couple of big screens and a long TD on a tipped pass but shut them down for the most part. 2 of the RBs Goula had are HUGE. People at the game were saying one is 6'1 215 and the other was 6'2 240. Both looked great. Excited to see what the season brings for my Panthers.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it. But I do know that Long Beach is missing some key players. They are going to be very young too. I expect them to get that thing rolling after a game or two of maturing. They will surprise some folks I'm just telling you. Ross is a good coach with a really good OC. Just got to give them time.
