Wareaglefan1us
I have numerous family members that served in Vietnam , the Gulf War. My Uncle has passed away now but served in WWII. I have a Grandson who will be a Senior in high school next year and will enlist in the Marines. So this is a very special day in our family. Thanks to All who have served so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy. Let’s never forget those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
hasbeen67
My grandfather served during WW2, but wasn't stationed in a combat area. He was somewhere in Central America. Panama Canal maybe.

maroontide06
My grandfather whom I never had a chance to meet drove a train for the Army during WW2 in Italy and North Africa. After the war he was a railroad engineer for I.C.R.R. (drove freight trains) on what Jerry Clower called the Panama Limited (passenger trains). Bulldogs4
Happy is not a term that should be applied to Memorial Day. A Day of Remembrance is more appropriate. I hope you had a Blessed Memorial Day. My Dad and four uncles were all WWII veterans. One of my uncles was severely injured in a mortar attack in France and was in various hospitals for about 6 months.
