TigersFan
I know of a kid that left a smaller school a few years ago because he thought going to a bigger school was going to get him all these D-I offers. He was a starter at the the small school as a freshman and would have been a great player and more of a name if he would have stayed there. Probably would have been the best player on his team his Sr year. Transferred to the larger school where he was a starter but was just a role player. Signed a Juco scholarship with a middle of the pack Juco. No DI offers and left there just a average role player that no one will remember in 5 years. If he would have stayed at his home town school, he may have had bigger numbers and better stats and gotten a better opportunity. He sure would have been remembered in the community as a great player! Just Saying!
NothingAsItSeems
Biggest misconception in high school football, transferring to a private school will help get a player recruited or prepare a player for the next level

It has worked out for hundreds of students. MRA has had many kids go on to next level just fine. Several Academies have also sent kids to the next level and helped those players advance their education. It's also not just in football that it has helped them. Dubaction
I do have a new found respect for (some) of the private school programs in Mississippi. But only a few.

I believe they will have a better season by far. Plus he’s already got plenty offers and I believe committed to Ole Miss

Notice I said most not all. In some cases it is for a better school situation for the kid but more times than not it happens because mom and dad don't think their kid is getting what they think they should.

The few private school kids that I notice making next level rosters aren't transfers. They grew up in that private school. The path of transferring from MHSAA to MAIS is a fair less successful path. Kid wins multiple state championships and statistically dominates in MHSAA, a college will give him a look, but the same cannot be said for a player that wins multiple state championships and statistically dominates in MAIS. pinebeltsavy
if the athlete is good enough it doesn't matter where he plays, he will get noticed. 1
mout25
Wareagle, your response was sad to read for a Meridian guy. I never thought I would see the day that going from Quitman to Meridian for a player would be seen as a downgrade. How the mighty have fallen. I agree but from what I know right now Meridian definitely on the rebuild with work to do. Then you factor in the region Meridian is in. Quitman has the talent to compete for a title in 4A. If I’m a senior with multiple offers and already committed to Ole Miss why not enjoy your Senior campaign and maybe do something memorable.
