They said they wanted it done quickly, but it’s went longer than I think they wanted. I think one hold up is the principal and the superintendent want different candidates. I think the super wants Jimbo, while the principal wants someone else.

I would be willing to bet good money that your 100% correct

Caldwell has retired from public school and is now an elementary principal at a private school in North MS. To my knowledge, Bud has retired also.  Think him and Rials that retired from Seminary are painting full time.

I know Rials is painting full time. Had no idea Bud was too. Wow.

Hard to beat the money when you can double dip . Would take a significant pay cut to come back and coach in public school again

I think it’s down to Fortenberry at Sumrall, Jimbo, and Hood and I believe it’s in that order as far as probability of hire is concerned. The super wants Jimbo, but the principal does not.

I honestly don't know which way I would go with the hire. Pros and Cons with all three. We all know Jimbo is a good coach and great weight room guy, but we all saw what could happen with him. Fortenberry has head coaching experience at Richton, but it didn't go very well year one 8-4, year two 6-6 , and year three 2-9. Hood is very familiar with Tville and the players, but he has never been a head coach.

I wouldn't judge fortenberry off of his richton job many years ago.  Not just overloaded with talent there and im sure he has grown as a coach since then. Know nothing about the Hood guy, he may be a great hire.  Wouldnt touch the other with a 10 ft pole.  Every job I have heard of him having has ended badly somehow.

Not long at all and none of them names worth talking about anyway.  Smith County embarrassing when it comes to its schools.  Ain't no leadership up in Raleigh just a bunch of old rednecks and fools Taylorsville bleeding teachers and administration type jobs again too.

You may feel that way about Tville but Mize is one of the top schools in the entire state. A lot of good people work there and send their kids to school there. As for the quality of names they applied for the Tville job, there wasn’t a large pool of candidates to choose from. The biggest name that applied was Jimbo.

I talked to a guy that knows Jimbo really well and he told me that Jimbo said that he did not apply. It sounds like maybe the superintendent contacted him without Jimbo applying

Because Mize runs the school.  Hillman ran off all the Taylorsville people at Taylorsville except his former players that coach girls.  Our boys Basketball team should be good but he keep hiring these sorry coaches.  Last one wasn't even really a coach.  It be all about favors and he friends at Taylorsville.  He don't do that at Mize.  All them Tartars at Mize Stringer Seminary & Bay Spring teaching now.

Jimbo is only big because of his anger, etc. He will be at Taylorsville long enough to win a few games before they kick him in the rear or some school grabs him like a fool.

Pretty sure he was referring to the district administrators not Raleigh high school

Crooked Superintendent and his staff not Raleigh High School or its coaching staff. His son's job has been posted as Asst Football, asst Baseball job.
