As an Ole Miss fan all we’ve heard is what would happen if all the close games that happened this year wouldn’t have gone that way and was reversed. Remind me again how many close games Washington had this year. Try only scoring 1 TD in the SEC like they did against ASU and see what happens.  Unless you’re playing Arkansas. Again love the hire. It just evened the SEC playing field some.

Winning close games is a skill. Some teams are just better at it than most. It can be difficult to have that skill every single year, though, especially as guys graduate or go pro and your identity changes. See TCU 2022 vs TCU 2023. Ole Miss returns a ton so that doesn’t necessarily apply to them in 2024, but you get the picture.

Y’all were just talking few weeks ago on here about the difference Ole Miss would look if some of those games went different. In the same breath question Kiffin as a coach because of his past.

Who is yall? What are you even talking about?

Kiffin can be a good coach and still have traits that make schools like Alabama not want to hire him. Those are two distinct conversations.

I enjoyed your hot take that Ole Miss had no shot next year because they lost Q and needed a game changing RB to win it. Then you went and picked Washington to win it all even though Dillon Johnson was questionable. You talk depending the team.

Did 83 really say OM had “no shot” because Judkins left?   I won’t take the time to look it up, but I doubt that.  lol.

Kiffin has built OM up too much to be getting upset over someone else’s opinion on here.  Unless, you are Lane Kiffin, Wammie!

All right NoWammies, I’ve been trying to hold my tongue a little bit but if we are gonna go down this road let’s go down this road. Sorry to disappoint you but this one won’t be short either.

My exact words from the transfer portal thread:

“With Judkins, I think Ole Miss is a heavy favorite to be in the Playoff. Without him, I don’t think the chances are zero, but they do take a dip, in my opinion.”

What exactly about that is such a crazy take? You lost a first team All-SEC RB, those don’t grow on trees in most cases. If you feel like Ole Miss won’t miss him then cool, you’re allowed to think that. I tend to think he’s an excellent player that may not be easily replaced. We don’t have to agree, it literally doesn’t matter.

I did pick Washington to win it all and was wrong. If you wanna use that as a knock on me then go ahead I guess. I was not the only one to predict that. If that makes me a hypocrite then I don’t think you know what the word hypocrite means.

You’re an Ole Miss fan, I’m a State fan. We support different teams. That’s fine. I’m sure we both have some blind spots on certain things. I don’t pretend to be an expert. I’m a CPA who never played a down of football in my life because I was about 5-6 150 pounds and probably would have died the first time I collided with someone. I’m just a dude with some opinions. Do I feel like I’m fairly knowledgeable? Sometimes. But I am nobody important in sports and have never pretended to be.

I’m not gonna do this back and forth BS where you antagonize every single opinion of mine that is not “Lane Kiffin is God” or “Ole Miss is going to win every national title for the rest of time.” There aren’t many folks around here from the old days at this point, but there some good dudes still on this board that I’ve enjoyed discussing sports with for a long time. Since I was an 8th grader to be precise, and I’m now in my 30’s. We don’t always agree, but we can talk about it respectfully with one another here, and I’ve always appreciated that.

It’s a free message board so you can post whatever the heck opinion you want. And ignore whatever I say, I don’t care. But I’m done with this personal jab nonsense.

I don’t know whose argument this helps, but 2023 was the lowest OM was ranked in rushing yards per game (175) in the SEC since Kiffin was hired.  They finished 5th.   Ironically, the year before Kiffin was hired OM was ranked 2nd with 250 yards/game which was the same as 2022 when they led the SEC.

As for the rest I’ve been on here since the mid 2000’s so I’ve been around the same as you. I’ve been respected enough in my opinions and how to handle things where I was asked to be a moderator. You won’t ever see me degrading a rival nor player especially when it’s a high school player. I try my best to be respectful in all aspects of this board because I love what it brings to the table.

You based your opinion off of losing a RB when a Kiffin offense with Snoop and Ealy was the league leader in rushing. It has nothing to do with who roots for who. Kiffin gets what he gets from the RB group regardless of who it is. Whether it’s an individual or a group.

I’ve never once said Ole Miss won’t be able to run the ball. But there is a difference in a good RB and an elite, alpha dog RB. It may only show up situationally, but it does show up. And can help make up for poor o-line play at times. In my experience of watching football, at least. I think it’s foolish to just assume Judkins will be easily replaced. Maybe he will be. I’m guessing not quite.

I also wouldn’t short sell Conner and Ealy either. Conner is an NFL RB and Ealy was really good in college. Henry Parrish also had good moments. That was a very good RB room in general. We will see what OM’s RB situation looks like in August, Bentley is a solid player, but he’s not some of these other guys.

Compared to other boards, this one is pretty civil if not docile. I appreciate that most times. And certainly have come to expect it. Y’all don’t take stuff personally, even when some comments seem to be just that. We can root for our individual sides and let some comments slide at the same time. Some shit just has to be ignored from both sides. Message boards can be toxic and you sure better expect that when you step in.

Ole Miss’ RB room currently consist of Bentley, Logan Diggs and Kedrick Reescano which I would put ahead of Snoop, Ealy and Parrish. A lot of folks will know more about Reescano next year.

Bentley is fine. Diggs is fine. Reescano has zero career carries. Maybe they’ll all be awesome. To assume it is going to happen is just a mixture of trust in your head coach combined with some wishful thinking.

Yet if you ask most of your fanbase they thought Dowdell and Daniel Hill would be the missing pieces to what Lebby has brought on.

Lol every State fan I know thinks we are going 6-6 at best next year and Hill and Dowdell weren’t changing minds on that, even if they were guys State wanted.
