I may not stop laughing until Christmas if that happens. Bay Springs fans pretend like they didn’t already get beat at home to Raleigh. And Raleigh fans pretend like they didn’t lose to Newton county or should have lost to mize, who they could likely see again in round 3. Mize wont beat Raleigh if they play again Mize just dont have what it takes; they are lucky they were in a Region with Collins N Forrest Heidelberg and Richton and not Bay Springs Raleigh Scott Central and Lake and then still they barely won their region. We played the worst we have played all season and we very fortunate to only beat y’all by 3 touchdowns while holding y’all to 20 total yards before we benched the starters in the 4th quarter. Pretty Taylorsville dominated region or Bay Springs won it. Your lucky Wingfield is still open. I think had they closed last year St Andrew's moves to 3A and East Marion to 2A. In either 94 or 95 All 3 teams played for a State championship. Taylorsville and Mize won, Raleigh was beaten by a great Amory team coached by Bobby Hall. Taylorsville beat both badly in regular season play. I am assuming all 3 won their district races. Marcus Boyles was at Taylorsville, Charles Ray Lee at Mize and Durwood Anderson at Raleigh. I just researched it and this is what I found. Raleigh and Mize finished 2nd in their district, Taylorsville was one in theirs and undefeated. Raleigh was 2nd to Forest coached by Jack French, Mize finished 2nd to Mt. Olive coached by Terrell Luckey. Mt. Olive was undefeated in regular season but lost to Salem in the 2nd round. Mize beat Salem in the 3rd round and then beat Weir in the finals. Taylorsville beat Calhoun City and I will always say that either the 94 or 95 team was the best 2 A I have seen and I have seen a lot of them. I will go with the 95 team. Here are their numbers. 15-0, 60+ (1) game, 50+ (3), 40+ (6), 30+ (4), and 20+ (1). Thought we were going to play them again at south state, but they were upset the week before against Salem. Then we blew out Salem at south state, and upset Weir and Dicenzo Miller at the state championship. Tville beat Calhoun City to win their 2nd straight title, and Raleigh lost to Amory who was arguably the best team in the entire state.
