OM and Arkansas are still good teams, they just ran into teams with something to prove. I wouldn’t even question Kiffin’s 4th down attempts. He knew he needed to score TDs. I’ll say this about OM’s defense though, and Arkansas, they both were still physical just overmatched. You like to see that after giving up big leads. I get that you need touchdowns but you don’t have to go for broke in the first quarter. It’s 35-7 now but could be 24-10 and you’re still kinda in the game, but those 4th down calls just killed any chances.
MSTSatchmo
Of course 3 of those 5 attempts (so far) were on one drive.

The first one I didn’t mind, they were in no man’s land. Every other attempt I think kicking or punting was the right move. It’s a moot point in this game but it’s a complaint with Kiffin that’s not new. It almost cost him the Egg Bowl last year. OM probably should’ve won that game by 2-3 TD’s but because of failed fourth down attempts instead of short field goals, State had the ball with a chance to tie at the end of the game. Bulldogs4
Well I will stand in the corner for 30 minutes. I was WRONG. Arky stunk it up completely.UGA appears to be the real deal this year. Complete domination. Bama still wins today but some curious 4th down calls by Kiffin certainly made it much easier for Bama.
Wcchaingang
At least we showed more life that Arkansas. They got it shoved down their throat and made to like it. Next week will be interesting. Who can bounce back. Edited October 2, 2021 by Wcchaingang
rebmus
Ole Miss won the second half 21-14!!!** Kidding aside, I liked how the team didn't quit after getting down so bad. There's little doubt Bama/UGA will meet in the SEC championship game. They may well meet again in the NC game.

Had chances to get off the field and didn’t make the plays.

I agree, BUT to be fair... why even try when Robinson was running it at will? Bryce Young will get all the Heisman love after today, Robinson was much more impressive today than anyone else on the field.

I don’t think they will be able to drive the length of the field consistently against a defense like a Georgia.
rebmus
That Georgia/Bama game should be a great one for sure. I see it being a 24-21 type game. Bama definitely won't put up 42 on Georgia's D, but won't need to.
Wcchaingang
Georgia reminds me of the Bama teams from 8-10 years ago.

Bulldogs4
I will say it is a great win because this team needed something good to happen after the last two games. NO TURNOVERS tonight. Now we still left some points on the field (two missed FG’s) but the defense was outstanding again. I can not overstate enough that we took care of the ball on offense. For the most part the OL was very good (had one bad series of plays in the fourth quarter). Ball control was big as well. TOP was 36-24 and we almost doubled them in FD’s. Rogers did a great job of taking what the defense gave him. Proud of this team for taking a step forward. A&M is certainly no where as good as they were last year but they are still very talented across the board.
Bulldogs4
Florida played today like I thought they would last week. Maybe KY is better than what they had shown in the first four games.
Dawg83
Huge win for State. Most would have taken 3-2 at this point, but they sure got there in a weird way. LOL. This was massive in terms of being able to get to six wins. There are a lot of Will Rogers haters that have some crow to eat tonight. He’s by no means perfect but I thought he was excellent in this game. A&M…. Yeesh. Jimbo is making an awful lot of money to produce Kevin Sumlin level results. That is a 6 or 7 win team at best, IMO. Insideradvantage
OM fan here from way back, but Kiffin’s pregame interview with CBS was downright embarrassing made even worse when you get your ass thumped. MSTSatchmo
Big win for State in regards to getting bowl eligible. Rogers and the WRs made some clutch plays, and the defense also. I agree with 83, Fisher is not getting the results he is being paid for.
Dawg83
Makai Polk has been a game changer for State. Really good find in the transfer portal, his numbers at Cal were nothing to write home about, but he is obviously very talented and having a big year. Dawg83
Auburn wins in Baton Rouge for the first time since ‘99. Coach O is in deep deep trouble. Today proved that there is a fairly large gap between Bama, Georgia, and everyone else in the league.
