I could actually see Bianco going to LSU. He has been at Ole Miss for 20 years. He may feel he has done all he can in Oxford. That is no negative at Ole Miss at all. But a change might be good for him, Ole Miss and LSU.

IMO, if there is ever a time this might happen, this might just be it.

Yep. Cioffi was guy to take the pressure off Broadway to help close.

This team has had every reason to lay down and fold over the bad luck of injuries but just keeps fighting through them. While I don't like OM's chances of making it out of a regional, I absolutely love the fight and spirit in this team.

Satch, the pitching was a pleasant surprise this week.

As Wcchaingang said, Myers had his best performance of the season by far.

Tomorrow should be interesting, I have no idea who they'll start and use out of the bullpen. My best guess:

Forsyth starts and Mallitz is the first option out of the pen. Miller and Baker are probably on deck out of the bullpen.

IF by chance OM is in game late, Broadway will probably be in for an inning or two.

I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be a little bit of every one from here on out.

Yep WC, it will be a big mix.

I just hope Bianco doesn't try to use Nikhazy, Diamond, McDanial, or Myers from here out. I'm ok with Broadway throwing an inning tomorrow IF needed, but that's as much as I want to see him before next weekend.

Ole Miss will need rested arms to advance next weekend, and getting through the regional is much more important than winning tomorrow or even Sunday.

SECT titles are great, but I'd gladly trade a loss tomorrow for a regional win next weekend.

I think you’re more likely to see neither State or Ole Miss get a Top 8 seed than Ole Miss to leapfrog State. But kudos to Ole Miss for making it a conversation at least. I think as it sits now they’d have to beat Arkansas to have any chance, and even that may not be enough. But like I said, they’ve done everything they’ve needed to do this week and have possibly found some answers on the mound too.

I’m still not ruling out State being in the Top 8, their RPI moved up two spots yesterday based on results of other games. Sitting at 7 (really 6 if you exclude Fairfield). Stanford is a worry, Ole Miss could be as well if they win the tournament, but State’s body of work outside of two games against Mizzou and two games in Hoover is very much that of a Top 8 seed. So don’t be shocked if they hold on to that spot.

MSU and Texas Tech are both iffies to be NS right now.

Stanford has a decent chance of getting one of those two NS.

Ole Miss or Florida would likely get one IF they could pull off winning the SECT. Florida is down 4-0 late to UT, so they're about to be out.

Chances of Ole Miss beating Arkansas and (looks like it will be) Tennessee are slim to none.

They are as good as advertised based on what I’ve seen from them this week. Wasn’t sure about them for most of the year but they are a legit contender if they can get to Omaha.

State has gotten some of the help they needed the last couple of days. If Stanford and Ole Miss lose today (fluid situation but both currently trailing) I really think you may see State hold onto that spot. Their RPI has actually risen this week in spite of getting smoked twice.

Yep. Florida and Ole Miss both lost today and Stanford lost also.

ECU is the only other team I see taking a possible NS IF they win the American tourney. I'm not sure if they'd take Texas Tech's place or MSU's place, I lean Texas Tech's place. ECU still has to pull off winning the American tourney to find out what would happen.

Losing always stinks, but I'm happy with the OM performance this week... especially the pleasant surprise from the pitching staff.

Getting past Vandy with "game 4" pitching yesterday and gave Arkansas all they wanted with "game 5" pitching in a 3-2 loss today.

No pitching was overused in the tourney and OM still made a nice run. I'm very good with that.

IF OM plays next weekend like they did this week, I like their chances. We'll see what happens though.

That’s a pretty big IF with the way we have pitched other than this week.

I will give Bianco credit, I was kind of expecting him to work Broadway to death and throw Nikhazy twice this week to try and win the tournament. Just think that’s a bad approach to this tournament and I don’t like when coaches do that, regardless of what’s at stake. But it looks like he gave opportunities to some guys that haven’t gotten a ton of them in meaningful games and OM’s pitching was pretty much excellent all tournament.

In a vacuum, Ole Miss looks like they are more than capable of getting to Omaha, and if you get there then anything can happen. At the same time, how can you not ignore the postseason demons this program has?

Genuinely going into this postseason not having a clue what to expect from State, OM, or USM. Definitely think all three have Omaha potential and also “get eliminated in a home Regional” potential.

Man, USM going to be kicking themselves after what transpired in Ruston today. Had two chances to beat LA Tech and likely lock up a host, blew an 8-0 lead in Game 1 and lost in extras, then up 5-2 in the 9th in Game 2 they handed the ball to a shortstop that hasn’t pitched all year and proceeded to allow four runs in the 9th and lose that game as well. Unreal.
