And I think he would have liked him to sit this year. If he is given a chance he will turn it around. 1000% agree. I think he is the right man for the job. A lot of work to do, but I just hope the fans/boosters can be patient and let him build it up.

Ha, there's a CHANCE I'm still right with the regular season records... VERY SMALL chance. I don't think I'll be far off with MSU... 5-7 at least and 6-6 wouldn't be surprising at all. I'm pleasantly surprised with Ole Miss this season. So far, I've only preseason predicted 2 of the first 7 games wrong for Ole Miss. Ole Miss losing to Auburn, A&M, and State going forward is still not out of the question... at all.

pancho
Kiffin is fine unless Corral goes down for any reason. I'm still very surprised that the D is playing this well.
Bulldogs4
Ole Miss is playing very well. Defense has made a lot of strides. The Arkansas game seems to be more of an exception than the rule this year. The Auburn game is shaping up to be a crucial game for both squads. The winner will put themselves in a very good position to finish out the season strong.
pancho
I know it's common for one player to carry a team but seriously, how many wins does ole miss have without corral? Can he will them to beat auburn, liberty(tougher game than most think) and A&M before the breather with vandy? I think the egg bowl is a wild toss up
rebmus
Corral has been special this season, no doubt. I was impressed with the RBs yesterday taking some of the heat off Corral. Auburn has shown times of being a tough out this season and also has shown times of being average at best. Auburn is favored by 1 right now, should be a great game. A&M will also likely be a tough out. A&M looked like the team most expected them to be against Alabama. At other times, A&M has looked somewhat lost. I agree on Liberty also, tougher than most think. As long as Ole Miss plays focused and doesn't turn the ball over, depth should lead to Ole Miss pulling away in the second half. Ole Miss isn't deep for an SEC team, but deeper than Liberty. Vandy typically plays their best game of the year against Ole Miss. Like the Liberty game, take care of the ball and play focused and it's a win. The egg bowl is almost always a crazy game and it's in Starkville. Ole Miss has put themselves in a nice position to have a great season, we'll see how they finish. MSTSatchmo
We have all seen the best team lose the Egg Bowl before. Usually happens when the better of the two is on the road also. As long as Kiffin is at OM, I believe, whoever the OM QB is, they will have a shot at putting up Hesiman numbers. I honestly thought Ealy would be the OM player in the Heisman talk prior to the season. I also thought though that Clemson’s QB would win the Heisman. MSTSatchmo
If for some reason Kiffin does bolt for a bigger name job, which I don’t think will happen this year, do OM fans think Durkin would get a legit shot at the head job? IF Kiffin leaves Ole Miss for another CF HC job this year, LSU makes the most sense. I lean towards Kiffin's name is floated for the LSU job and Ole Miss gives him a fat raise (deserved and will happen either way) while LSU has Kiffin as a backup plan. If Kiffin takes another job, there is no telling who Ole Miss hires. I lean towards it won't be a current coach but IF it went down that way... I'd bet on Lebby over Durkin. Then again, Ole Miss has been known to promote the OL coach to HC during these times. HEY!
Dawg83
I’ve always assumed Lebby would just slide into the HC role if Kiffin leaves. There is a zero percent chance Durkin gets a P5 head coaching job anytime soon after the player death situation at Maryland under his watch. pancho
I think Lebby is perfectly capable but I doubt that he's flashy enough a hire for the money folks there. I'd be more interested to see if Lebby stays on another year working under Kiffin than this currently.

I don't think Texas Tech will nab him, but it's certainly a possibility he goes there. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get some type of HC offer like that though.
