Dawg83
Well, last weekend was nuts. Should be more tame this weekend but who the heck knows. Ole Miss at Texas - two teams that seem to be trending in opposite directions. Part of me wonders if Texas is too talented to lose 3 in a row, but heck they’re fortunate to only have 2 losses right now really and truly. Ole Miss has played its best football the last two weeks, and is definitely the trendy pick here with Texas having some injuries. Genuinely torn on this one, but I’m gonna take Texas to have a get right game at home and win 30-24. Oklahoma at State - is Kamario playing? Answer that question and I’ll tell you who I think wins. I think this game is going to be sloppy regardless. If it’s Puckett vs Mateer then the sequel to 3-2 is in play. The talk as we sit here today seems to be leaning toward Kamario plays. If he does, I trust him to make more plays than the OU offense. This prediction doesn’t count if Kamario is out, but I’m taking State 24-20 in this one. LSU at Auburn - well, this one is suddenly more interesting than anyone expected. Can LSU finally win one on the road? I lean yes. I am currently of mind that AU’s win last week was kinda fluky and I want to see them play well two weeks in a row. But I have LSU winning this one something like 28-17. Tennessee at South Carolina - in a season full of lessons games, this feels like one for sure. SC is even favored here. It seems like SC found a little something in that Florida game, and I think they are a talented team even with the slow start. I’m taking SC at home by a field goal. Texas A&M at Bama - tough couple of weeks for the Tide, but A&M stinks. Bama by 3 TD’s. Vandy at Kentucky - yall ready to talk to your kids about 7-1 Kentucky? Because that’s about to be a thing. Cats have big November full of meaningful games, don’t think they’ll have any issues with Vandy. I can’t in good conscience pick a team that lost to the 2026 Arkansas razorbacks Edited Wednesday at 04:35 PM by Dawg83
Former Coach
I think TX is headed in the wrong direction. Manning has been way over rated. OM wins by 10+ Even as bad as Mateer and OK offense has been State defense has been worse last couple of weeks. Only way State wins is if KT and Fluff are 90-95% and don't get reinjured. And i don't think either are there. Hope I'm wrong but OK wins by 2 TD's. LSU big. SC in a close one. Bama by 2 TD's KY big.
Dawg83
Texas is a weird team to reconcile because I totally agree they are tending the wrong way but at the same time they have wins over Ohio State and at Tennessee. So nothing seems to be off the table with them. Edited Wednesday at 04:37 PM by Dawg83
MSTSatchmo
TX finally plays a whole game and wins by 6 If Taylor and Bothwell play, State by 4. If not, OK by at least 2 TDs LSU close Bama, KY and TN big Vegas usually knows what’s up though and they have SC favored over TN. That’s crazy after TN just dominated Bama. Bulldogs4
I am kinda with you guys , State wins with a reasonably healthy Taylor and Bothwell. If not then Okie wins. I like Ole Miss to beat Texas. The Texas team that beat the ohio state & Tennessee has gone into hibernation. Ole Miss 28-17. LSU as much as I dislike saying this, seems to be getting their act together. Auburn will be flat after the Georgia win. LSU 27-14. Tennessee lays an egg after TSIO and South Carolina is playing much better football. SC for the win 24-16. A&M @ Bama. Bama is trending down and A&M is in the abyss. That said, look for an ugly game, that Bama wins 28-20. Vandy @ Kentucky. Wildcats are playing very well but they are due for an off game and this is the type of game that Vandy can sneak up on people. Look for KY to struggle mightily but eke out a win 21-18. Dawg83
Fluff is playing tomorrow. Kamario appears to be playing too. Obviously huge for State if so. My concern is their defense is in shambles. Game is going to be decided by a bad Oklahoma offense vs a bad State defense, IMO.
DrownInEtown
Tough task for Lebby going up against Venables with a young QB. I think it will be a close game, depending on who wins the turnover battle. Kamario will probably struggle with the pressures Venables is about to bring. Have to rely on Fluff and Kamario’s athleticism to win this one. I’ll take the Dawgs 21-18 Ole Miss has looked phenomenal lately. This is a very talented team capable of winning it all. But Golding lays a few eggs every year even going back to his Bama days. Texas is struggling offensively and Sark is fighting for his job at this point. I’ll go OM 28-
Dawg83
Kamario hurt again late first quarter. Scrambled on a 4th down and you could tell immediately there was a problem. These next three quarters are going to be a painful watch with these two offenses. 3-2 the sequel?
Bulldogs4
Puckett has actually looked okay. Made a poor decision to keep the ball. Give it to Fluff or pass the ball. That hurt.
Dawg83
Oklahoma is only up 10-0 and it feels like an insurmountable lead.
Dawg83
Just feels like State was a house of cards this year and it took one or two injuries to take them from Top 20 team to I’m not totally sure they get to 6-6 now. This is the kind of game that will get the Lebby hot seat talk going again. Edited Saturday at 09:24 PM by Dawg83
Dawg83
OU wins by 8. The QB problem at State will get the most talk, but that was an absolutely terrible defensive showing by State too. OU missed three field goals or that game isn’t remotely close. Best offensive showing of the season by a bad offense. I think that Vandy game in two weeks is potentially Lebby coaching for his job. Can’t believe it has turned as quickly as it has. But there are more problems than just Kamario being injured. MANY more.

Dawg83
BYU, Texas Tech, and Tennessee all lose. The path to the Playoff this year….. A really weird one.

I would be pissed if I were Minnesota, SC, or Mizzou that they didn’t get to play this version of State. Oklahoma is not a good football team and State was fortunate to only lose by 8 to them today. In Starkville.
Bulldogs4 Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM Puckett has actually looked okay. Made a poor decision to keep the ball. Give it to Fluff or pass the ball. That hurt. Ole Miss getting waxed by TX tonight. Just a poor day for our two teams. Kudos to USM for the win over ULL. That is a big shot in the arm for the Golden Eagles. Dawg83 Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM Texas has Chambliss seeing ghosts and the next QB they’ll see is…. Billy Puckett. lol. OM has been a strange team week to week this year.
Bulldogs4 Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM As Lee Corso would say “not so fast my friend.” Would be the epic choke of the season if Ole Miss comes back and wins this game.
Dawg83 Posted yesterday at 03:38 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 03:38 AM OM made it REALLY interesting. But Texas hangs on. Only two SEC teams remaining with one loss. Georgia and Kentucky, just like we all expected!

rebmus Posted yesterday at 04:25 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:25 AM That first half by Ole Miss was bad, just very very bad by the whole team. I was glad to see the team didn’t roll over and showed up in the second half, not quitting shows character in a team. Plenty of season left to see how it goes. Dawg83 Posted yesterday at 04:31 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 04:31 AM Ole Miss is still probably going to finish 9-3 at worst. That Georgia game in a few weeks obviously looms large, but it’s in Oxford. If Kamario is done for the year, which is kinda what it looked like today, State’s best case scenario is 6-6. And that would require them winning the Vandy game that I’m not sure I would pick them to win if you made me call it today.
DrownInEtown Posted yesterday at 05:08 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:08 AM (edited) Wonder where State would be if Willie Fritz stepped out of that airplane in 2024 instead of Lebby Edited yesterday at 05:30 AM by DrownInEtown

All three left for jobs that at the time would have been considered lesser jobs than State. And State hired an unproven OC to be its head coach.
