slicklizard
Week two is in the books as the march to region games gets a little more in sight. Some schools are going to have to turn it around or the slide could get too big to stop When you go at the king and can’t miss West Point has had a strangled hold on 5A north for most of my memory. Lately, my hard drive has been feeling kind of full, but that’s another story. It’s shaping up that the region slate and the playoffs it’s gonna be must see. Lafayette and Cleveland Central are making passes by the castle tapping o on their shields, inviting the king to come out. He will have to show up sooner or later. Two spheres cannot occupy the same orbit If both continue on the same trajectory, Louisville and Kosciusko are going to duking it out for the north half title. I think the all everything defensive end for Louisville is the son of the superintendent in Kosciusko. He may to take a sick day that Friday. No room for outsiders Are the 4 best teams in 2A North all in one region? You could make a strong argument that the 4 best teams in 2A north all reside in one region. 4-2A East Webster Kemper County Velma Jackson Eupora Philadelphia Just an observation, Madison Central is like watching paint dry when they play. If not for a timely fumble against Pearl, they would probably be 0-2. Defense is optional Stone County has given up over 40 points in their last two games. They were talked up as winning that region by a lot of media on the coast. For them to not even score a point against Poplarville what does that say. Did cat bounce A very vocal crowd on social media this week we’re talking about Taylorsville. Fellow.MST poster chunky told us don’t believe don’t believe it what we were seeing is fool’s gold. Right again chunk. Madame Cleo’s crystal ball is cloudy PRC, Picayune, and Pascagoula. I don’t know what to make of that region. A couple of are looking good. A perennial bully in this region has got his nose, bloody a couple of times by older and bigger dudes. Like the situation with West Point this could be the case of someone coming for the king. The jug is bone dry by now It stayed in Hattiesburg . Nothing would have been left in it anyway even if it survived the trip to Laurel. Laurel may have the fastest player in 5A South in that QB. They will need every tenth of a second of it too with that offensive line. Every break had went their way so far this season until the snap over the QBs head jarred the horse shoe out of , well let just say nobody was willing to touch it again They didn't look anywhere near the same after. Interesting: Neshoba Central, Columbia , Germantown, Warren Central, South Panola

Chunky6617 Posted yesterday at 02:30 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:30 PM (edited) I’m going to say you could be right about the teams in 2A North. Only other teams in the mix would be Charleston, Northside, and Baldwyn. But the top 2 right now I think would be east Webster and Kemper. I’m still not completely sold on East Webster, because I think Choctaw county is not near as good as people thought there were gonna be. But I’m sold on their QB. Kemper has a dynamic offense, but they need to get better on defense Edited yesterday at 04:48 PM by Chunky6617

I agree that this is partially true. Their schedule is laughable! Really it is. The only team that actually has a legitimate pulse in regards to their football program on Lafayette’s non conference schedule is Hernando. The reclassification has made 5A North as a whole very laughable to be honest. However, Lafayette is improved from the last couple of years and West Point is not good up front. Which is strange. Lafayette ran for 500+ yards Friday. That’s hard to do no matter who your opponent is. Do I think Lafayette will beat them NO. Is it possible if WP continues to slide. YEP! Baldwyn STRUGGLED to beat Kossuth week 1 and then got hammered by like 40 by Booneville. No way they would compete with those teams.
pancho
Baldwyn lost a key player recently and now has legal issues and won't be returning so they have some internal turmoil similar to what Grenada had last season.
