And look, I still don’t think State is winning the Egg Bowl… But if you were to draw up a path for it happening, something like today is a big part of it. .. The Kiffin cloud continuing to linger.

 

Distracted coaches in Egg Bowls do not exactly have the best track record. Ask Tommy Tuberville, Dan Mullen, and 2022 Lane Kiffin.

Now that a lot of OM fans have calmed down, they look at Carter’s statement as a positive and sign Kiffin is staying.  They believe the extension has been signed and the delay in announcing is to cost LSU valuable time in finding a new coach. 
 

At least that’s what the ones on Twitter that were calling for Kiffin to be locked out of the Manning Center this afternoon are now saying.

If this has been a long con then Kiffin might just be a sociopath.

 

i don’t think it’s been a long con. I think if he was for sure staying, enough damage has been done to where he would’ve signed yesterday.

I think Lane genuinely doesn’t know what to do. We gotta remember he’s human too with more pressure on him than 99% of the population can even comprehend. One of his former players told me he’s a little neurodivergent so he may not fully understand how he’s appearing to the public about this situation haha

Regarding Kiffin & Ole Miss, it reminds of that Neil Young song “The Needle & Damage Done”

Obviously, I am not saying he is a drug user but fall out from this charade is very parallel to the above. His credibility among a lot of alums and supporters is shot. What’s to say these folks later on say you were sticking a knife in our back while at the same time asking/demanding our support. I am not giving anymore. Period. At least as long as you are our Coach.

As far as week 13 goes.

 

We have a very rare instance in which the Big 10 actually has a meaningful game this year :

Indiana - Oregon

Mich - OSU next week.

But now we have USC @ Oregon -10.5. Haven’t seen either team play this year. Hoping Oregon eliminates USC from playoff contention so another SEC team can get in. Oregon 30 - USC 15

 

- 6.5 Oklahoma - Mizzou. OU shuts down Ahmad Hardy and wins 24-9

 

Tennessee -3.5 at Florida. This is a suspect line. Vegas must know something. Give me Florida 35-28

 

Arkansas at Texas -9.5. The rivalry’s back. Arkansas keeps this game close but Texas wins in a shootout. Texas 45- Ark 38

If he doesn’t understand then somebody in his camp (Sexton or someone else) should probably be hammering the point home…. Unless he’s decided to leave and just wants to finish the season first, which is probably the Occam’s razor with all this.

 

At this point I’m halfway expecting him to stage a “The Decision” type ceremony a la LeBron back in the day. Or like he goes on College Gameday next Saturday and does a signing day hat ceremony. It’s truly a circus at this stage anyway so why not. lol.

One variable for Lane that we might not consider enough is, at least the rumors say, that he's receiving interest from NFL teams as well. Specifically, the Giants, which would reunite him with Dart, and Titans have been mentioned. If true, part of his decision is not only which college team, but college or NFL. He may never be in this position again. All that being said, as a primarily MSU guy, I'd still like to think staying at OM would be what he decides is best overall for him and his family.

His family is so far down the list of importance in this.  Lane is the #1 priority.

I don’t anyone has done more to improve public perception of himself this season than Venables.

Last year was just a matter of disaster on the offensive side. Injuries + Jackson Arnold + Bad OC hire. Moving forward OU should contend just about every year

I’m not sure they’ve got the offense fixed even now. But their defense is elite, probably the best in the SEC.
