Perhaps a lost season for State but a legendary performance by Hubbard.

Shout out to KeShawn Murphy for missing an open dunk and taking the L in his return to the Hump.

Also shout out to John Cohen for giving Steven Pearl a 5 year contract for some inexplicable reason.

Murphy missing the dunk is karma. If you remember last year against Bama, he missed a wide open layup that would have tied the game in the last seconds of the game. Of course it was at the opposite end of the coliseum.

Definitely has not been a good year but credit to Hubbard and our players for not throwing in the towel. Just glanced at our schedule. @SCAR, @Bama, @FL and Mizzou & GA at home. Realistically 3-2 is the best record I see there.

That would put us 8-10, 16-15 overall.

We would have to win one-two SECT games to make the NIT. Lot to ask for.

Cohen is one sandwich short of a picnic. Auburn definitely did us a favor by taking him away. The Auburn coaching switcheroo right before the season started was weird and now it’s biting them in the butt.

Honestly even with all the flaws this team has, they’re about 3-4 very close losses away from the conversation being very different. Let it slip away in the final minute against good New Mexico and SMU teams. Lost a close to game to San Francisco without Hubbard. And then whatever the heck you want to call the abomination that was State vs Ole Miss in the Hump several weeks ago.

Yes we have an occasional win followed by numerous losses followed a random win followed by more multiple losses.
Am I repeating myself here?

And the icing on the cake is it appears that State - Ole Miss may face each other in the first round of the SEC tournament.

There are bad seasons where your teams play hard and just don’t have the horses. And then there are bad seasons where you just don’t have the horses and your effort is also questionable.

This is the latter for State.

Mercifully, this State hoops season is finally over. Just a total mess of a team. Back to the drawing board for Jans, this roster has to get significantly better if they want to get back to competing for the NCAAT.

Ole Miss decided to play well and upset Texas yesterday. Might knock UT out of the tourney. OM gets Georgia this evening, who they did beat early in the year. So who knows. It’s obviously win the SECT or bust for OM but maybe they can make it interesting for another day or two.

Is Jans still in play for the Kansas State job or did they hire someone already?

Ole Miss basketball on one of the most confusing tourney runs I can ever recall lol. They’d won one single game since mid January before Wednesday, and now have won three in a row in Nashville and are bizarrely two wins away from stealing an NCAAT bid.

Lost 12 of 13, now they’ve won 3 in 3 days.  Might as well win two more.  They’ve got off to hot starts and held on the last two days. Crazy.
