Pascagoula

Anybody know what’s going on at Pascagoula? They had pretty high expectations going into the season but are sitting at 1-4. I know their qb from last season graduated but they have 2 SEC players on defense.

Pascagoula shouldn't have gotten boat raced by Gulfport last night, but you can see that this is more the norm for a Lewis Sims Pascagoula team.  They can't ever seem to get up for big games.  The talent is definitely there, but you're right.  Something is off for sure.

Sometimes losing becomes a habit and it's not that you can't win, but it becomes a habit.  I would certainly hope Pascagoula hasn't got to that point because that's not a good place to be at all.

Let’s start with the offense.  Don’t have the ability to sustain drives due to a poor running game (the offensive line isn’t a strength and was dominated by Gulfport’s front) and an unseasoned QB who was converted from linebacker.  He’s a gamer who throws fairly well outside the numbers but his inexperience is evident by how quickly he leaves the pocket.  I don’t wanna be overly critical though because he’s been throw into the fire of 7A competition without their best RB and the weak OL.

 

This is the best defense they’ve fielded in recent years but they’re wearing down quickly due to the ineptitude of the offense.

 

Special teams are a mess — especially punting — and we all know who coaches that unit.  He made a decision so stupefying last night that it caused me to question how seriously he’s taking his job.

Tough schedule but I did believe they would beat Gulfport.

I watched their second half against Ocean Springs and said to myself this team is going to be a problem in the south .  It was mainly because of the QB.  Kid was a bulldozer and has a quick release.I didnt know he was from the defense. They were a called back TD away from tying that game late. 

I  never would have believed they would lose the next two.  Nobody can take one step forward and two steps back like river rd louie.
