Jeff Co. is terribly underrated.  Really solid program on both sides of the ball.

Fayette has never really done much,  with a rare exception, in the playoffs - so folks tend to write them off as a team that gets a bunch of soft wins and then melts against real competition.

Might not be an incorrect read.

55 from South Pike north to Callaway west to Warren Central has gone weak and losing students.

Aberdeen will surprise some people this year, got some really talent players came back from last year team

so you saying they win more than 4 this year?  Is Fort the best athlete on the team?  I think they lose to calhoun city, maybe amory, IAHS, winona, choctaw county, senatobia and noxubee

They went 8-3 last year with a young team. 90 percent of that team is back. I expect them to make some noise in 3A

8-3 and the only team they beat with a winning record was Tylertown who was 6-5. It will be hard to compete with Seminary, Quitman, and Magee just name a few.

Not saying that they will win the south but that’s just one of those “if they make it, I won’t be surprised” teams

Forgot that quitman was in 3A. I’m high on seminary but all they ever seem to be is a scrappy bunch. I’m interested in seeing what they’ll do about the QB situation this season being that they ran a 2 QB system last season and both guys are returning.

I just don’t see Magee being as powerful as they were last year, losing 20+ seniors off a team that made it to south state is tough to replace but then again who knows, West Point reloads every year.

JDC will be back, it’s a reason they schedule MRA for their season opener

Raleigh is the south’s favorite

It’s hard to win with a two QB system. Not saying impossible but hard. I could see where you say “not a surprise.” West Marion is one of those teams that win a game or two that they are not supposed to win every year. They are also one of the teams that cannot win the big one in playoffs. It will be interesting to see. I think they will have to win the region, which is do able, and get a break by being able to host one of the power names in South 3A at home in the second or third round to have a chance.

It’ll be out of them and tylertown for the region. Tylertown wasn’t bad last season neither, I just don’t follow that area enough to know about that program

JDC is going to struggle early. Especially defensively. But with the system they run, as long as they keep the chains moving they will have a chance. I got a feeling MRA is going to maul them though.

If you look at their non-district schedule from past years, this is a relatively easy non-district schedule according to MaxPrep.
