Simmer down bruh. Typos happen.

And come on now. Let’s not pretend that Petal would be worse off in 6A than in 7A. That’s just plain common sense.

Who was talking about worse off ? You spelled out making the playoffs and in the hunt or was that a typo too ?

If by better off you mean not losing games by as much I guess you could be right but their best option to do those things might be to try and change the rules again to classify as 5A or 4A . Even that probably wouldn't be enough

Wow man. You all upset about this topic with what appears to be big feels. Take a deep breath dude and let the teams sort it out on the field.
Yeah, I did say that Petal is not big enough to play with the monsters in 7A. That’s a fact. I did say that they’d be much more successful in 6A. And based on all empirical evidence, that’s a pretty good likelihood as well. Why would you even balk at this. It’s a no-brainer.

There’s feelings and then there’s fact. And fact is that there’s zero dispute that Petal would be more successful in 6A than 7A. Anyone arguing against that is just spewing hot air.

Why are you hung up on Petal dropping down to 6A to be competitive?  They ain't gonna add another classification to help Petal.  You are where you are and if Petal stays in the top 24 when reclassification happens in two years it won't change the status quo.  But to Slick's point they really would have to drop to 5A or 4A to get to the finish line and cross it.  It's very difficult to envision a scenario in either 7A or 6A where Petal could have greater success.  That doesn't mean they won't be successful, but they would have extreme difficulties in winning their last game.  If they dropped to 5A they would essentially have a litter free path to walk on.

It’s like this dude has never watched football in those classes.
They would have to go through Pascagoula, Hatties, Picayune, and West Jones with probably Grenada waiting on them . Plus like you say the point waiting  two classes away . I think Poplarville and Louisville give them all they want too. Petal don’t got the legs for that .

Man I hope you can do better than this.  You hit all the cool message board vernacular but you really told us nothing.

Are you Petal ? I don’t want to argue with you. Let’s be friends. We need more participation on here so if my tone or delivery seem harsh I apologize .

if you are Petal I kind of have to kick them every now and then. They stole our coach. Even though this last time he tried to come to Wayne County first.

Lets smoke the peace pipe and bury the hatchet

Idk man, the whoopin they put on HHS tonight was pretty convincing. I’ve been saying it for weeks and everybody been wanting to fight me about it. Petal may not be getting enough credit this year. I said they’d take HHS by at least 2 scores and Petal covered that handily.

I’m not from there and don’t live there. I remember playing them back in the day. Decades ago. Just think they’re not given enough respect for the fight the put in their game. They’re a good school. They’ll

never be a Madison Central or an Oak Grove, but they have a lot of heart.

Bro we had like 5-6 turnovers total gave them like 9 points easily, safety, bad snap that ended up on their 5 line. We played 2 QBs and TK was out this game. Our Qbs played horrible ..Petal defense not as good as mention in the media. I still like our chances with coach Lacey.

A team who makes that many mistakes in 1 game either had the worst night of their entire season during the very first game… or they’re not ready/undisciplined. Either way it was a bad outing & doesn’t bode well.

It was a bad night for sure. 3 fumbles. 3 picks. (1 was a pick 6) snap over punters head that gave them the ball at the 5yd line. Punter dropped a snap and gave it to them at the 20yd line. Center snapped ball when qb wasnt looking. Clean that up and its a different game. Probably still lose but they not giving up a 50piece.

Yes. That concerning as well. Qbs looked confused Wrs were open I will say a bad game. Special teams garbage last night. When they gel together Look Out!

Gotta figure this qb situation out, clean up the special teams and reevaluate the rbs... if there was a shining star for hhs last night is there defense. Don't let the final score think Petal had their way because they didnt. Literally everything was self inflicted with hburg. I will also go out on a limb and say Allen is the best defensive lineman in the state right now as a sophomore... which is scary.
