Union has a super offense but appears soft on defense giving up 33 points to Choctaw Central. It will be a shootout since I dont think our young defense can stop Union offense but I dont think their defense can stop our offense either. NoWammies Posted August 31, 2023 Share Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) I wouldn’t really go off of the Union/Choctaw Central final score to gauge what Enterprise offense can do against Union cuz Union gave up 22 to Choctaw Central last year and went into the Enterprise game giving up 23 pts/game. They shutdown Enterprise’s offense and held them to 10 pts under their average giving up and Enterprise offense scored 19 less than they were averaging. One question I have from the original post. Is a defense really considered young if the starting unit is comprised of 82% upperclassmen who all either started or got a substantial amount of playing time the year before? The entire secondary are seniors, 2/3 of the linebackers are upperclassmen and 3/4 of the defensive line is upperclassmen. Mize gave up 45 to a terrible taylorsville team so that means mize is soft on defense and can’t stop enterprise even though enterprise and Taylorsville don’t remotely resemble each other at all.
