Let’s Keep MST Rolling in 2025

Hey y’all,

It’s Blake. I know I haven’t been as active on the board lately. Life’s been full (as it tends to be). But I wanted to ask a quick favor.

Back in 2002, I started Mississippi Sports Talk on a whim. I just wanted a better place to talk high school sports with folks who actually cared. Before long, it caught on and grew from the northeast corner of the state to all across Mississippi! Eventually we joined Scout, then 247Sports, and now ... we’re independent again. Through all those changes, one thing has stayed the same: the people who show up.

MST has never been flashy. But it works because of the folks who come around, post scores, stir the pot, and occasionally get a little too fired up about their cross-county rivals.  That’s what makes it fun.

I’ve covered the hosting, domain, and software costs for years. To keep MST running in 2025, I could use a little help. It totals about $240 a year, which is roughly $20 a month. That’s about the same as a hamburger, popcorn, and a Coke at your Friday night football game. If you skip the souvenir cup. 🙃

So here’s the ask:
If you’ve enjoyed MST, whether you post every week or just read along from the background, would you consider pitching in? It’s a once-a-year donation. No subscription. No perks. No gold star beside your username. Just keeping the lights on.

Ways to give:
Buy Me A Coffee (give in $3 increments)
Venmo: venmo.com/mrblakethompson
PayPal: paypal.me/blakethompson

If you can give, awesome! If not, no worries. We're still glad you're part of the MST crew. The moderators are on board for the new year too.

Thanks for being part of MST all these years and for helping make sure it sticks around for another season.

Feel free to reply here with questions or send me a DM.

Was it coffee or tickets?  Either way, if everyone chipped in $3 or $6 bucks the $240 annual site costs would probably be covered for a few years anyway.

The site is Buy Me A Coffee, but I changed our page to Tickets because it made more sense. Either way, I fully agree with you. I'm thankful for yall's help. Hopefully we get it up there soon enough.
