BrickCity
Am I the only one that thinks this has gotten out of hand? High school football has become a market for tricking parents and kids in thinking these "experts" are the only ones that can develop young athletes

I think we may be beginning to see some unintended consequences/trickle down effect of everything that's going on.

These trainers and coaches are going to get kick backs from schools to push kids to their program. I could also see some of these larger power house programs that recruit reaching out to broker deals to get those kids to move to their school because their state may allow NIL for high school players. It almost sounds like some sort of bidding war (if that's the correct terminology to use), and so does that mean that George County and Gautier got outbid? This apparently has nothing to do with playing time because those players were integral parts of their football team.
Poundtherock
Travel ball mentality. Not satisfied…jump ship. Better team…jump ship. No loyalty at all these days. Sad times

I think the Alfred situation had to do a lot with his WR trainer/7 on 7 coach and his ties with Saraland. 2-3 of their good players also played on the same 7 on 7 team with Alfred. Couple that with the fact Gautier did not look very good on offense this spring trying to run Air Raid without Kaden Irving and I think he felt like he was in for a long season He will have a chance to compete against some legit competition and play with some great players and have a chance to win a ring. Not to mention Saraland probably is chipping in with something (money, housing, job, etc.) George County is a mess from what I have been told. Players and community are not behind Ray. Knight has some connections with his 7 on 7 team and coaches. Could have been how he got set up with Lipscomb. There is definite behind the scenes working going on. This stuff happens all the time in basketball and has become really common in football the last few years. It has just finally made its way to Mississippi.

If these 7v7 coaches are as qualified as they think they are, I wish they would get their teaching license to see how they fair when the pads are popping

Alfred works with Mike Espy and played 7v7 with MESH (Mike Espy, Shay Hodge). There weren't any Saraland players on the MESH team, as far as I know. It's all MS kids. Very well could not have been the case.

GC is nut that far from Saraland so they saw an opportunity. You know the coach wasn’t going to say no stay at GC. The NCAA turned a blind eye to AAU basketball for years, now they have made it legal in all sports. I promise you this is just the beginning

Probably since the final whistle against Picayune in South State. There were probably a couple of other schools he could’ve ended up at, but ultimately it was Saraland. Parents can do whatever they want to with their kids, I get it. This was probably the best decision for all parties because it was eventually gonna boil over into some unnecessary drama. What drama would there be? He was the main cog in an explosive offense and was going to be the star of the show for two years.

Only working pass rush with DL, which won’t come in handy when you play a team that runs power/counter 75% of the time. Or only teach DBs cover 2 man because that’s all they run in 7 v 7. s1nglewing
I had a seriously rich kid once whose personal trainer had him lifting same body areas in the evenings as we were at school during the day. When it came to maxes, he didn't make any gains and even dropped some. Blamed the coaching staff and transferred. Bye.

DBs are the worlds worst at doing things that look pretty for a 7v7 hype video. That is not how real football is played.
