IF MSU can hold on to Van Buren and Coleman, they will be a fun combo to watch in Starkville next year.

9-3 regular season for Ole Miss is in the books. We'll see where they end up next. The playoff chances are VERY SLIM, but we'll see what happens the rest of this weekend and next weekend. It COULD happen, I sure wouldn't bet on it.

For starters:

Auburn beat Bama.

Georgia Tech beat Georgia (LOL, very doubtful... but this has been a crazy year).

Texas beats A&M and beats UGA in the title game. (This is the only part of the three I feel ok about happening).

SCarolina over Clemson would be a plus.  I don’t see them moving SC over OM with the head to head being such a wide margin.  ND/USC and Vandy/TN are others to keep an eye on.  Anything is possible this year.  They really just need three, maybe two, of any of those combos.  It’s been a crazy year.  What are the odds all the favorites win this weekend.

Ole Miss is kind of between a rock and a hard place. While Georgia losing is good in one way, it hurts your SOS as that win gets diminished somewhat.
At the end of the day, Ole Miss did what they had to do today. Win and now wait.
Rivalry wins are seldom very pretty and all ugly wins are good wins. As 83 noted, State had three turnovers and failed to cash in on our opportunities. Defense played well and gave us a chance.
For State, the 2-10 record disguises some positive things. Effort was good all year long. It seems that the players have bought in to Lebby. Now we need to recruit the HS/Transfer Portal/JC areas well in the offseason. And hopefully turn the page on this year and start with winning some football games next year.

Joe Tess was awfully confident that UGA is in now that they won. That’s probably right but his schtick was grating tonight.

That’s a brutal way to lose a rivalry game if you’re Tech. Especially given how tough it’s been for GT to win this game recently. So many golden opportunities to win it and they let it get away.

Ugh. I switched when GTech was up late and figured it was over.

For 8 OTs we had to hear “get a stop and you’re in” or “score here and you’re in”.  Every single time.

Maybe I’m alone on this but I think the way they do overtime now is beyond stupid. They added the two point shootout basically to speed up the game and get it over with quicker after the infamous LSU-A&M 7OT game where Joe Burrow collapsed in the locker room afterward.

But you’re gonna make teams switch ends of the field after every period still? And timeouts reset after every period?

I did not find the end of that game to be exciting. It felt more like “oh my gosh will one of yall get this over with already”

I agree about the two point conversion. Beyond stupid. I actually think they should start the possession on the 40 yard line each possession. Give the defense a chance and make the offense earn it. Plus timeouts reset after two overtime’s instead of one. I was dizzy watching them go from one end to the other.

Looks like it’s going to be one of those days. Vandy up 14-0 on Tennessee already.

Vols have turned it around and now up by 16. Clemson-SC and Ohio State-Michigan coming down to the wire though.

Kentucky is getting smoked by Louisville and is going to finish 4-8……. With a win in Oxford, somehow.

As of now, the Clemson loss helps Alabama.

Can SC leapfrog Bama and OM now? That’s the question. SC has three Top 25 wins and can argue that one of their losses came with an injured QB. I get that SC lost to both Ole Miss and Bama but it’s a debate at least.

That said…. All of these teams are out without more chaos. Ohio State is still very likely to be in. This knocked them out of the B1G title game though, likely to be Oregon vs Penn State now.
