I agree. I mean, you have 4 small schools all 20 minutes or less from each other. Loyd Star, West Lincoln, Bogue Chitto, and Enterprise Lincoln.

Lincoln County High School. Makes a ton of sense to do it. There are so many areas that need to consolidate. Richton merging with Perry Central would make a ton of sense to me as well.

I’m ok with having two or 3 different schools.  But Lincoln county has too many. Merge Bogue Chitto and Enterprise Lincoln, or Loyd Star with West Lincoln.

Enterprise and West Lincoln Could be Pre-K to 8th. Loyd Star and Bogue Chitto could be 9-12 grades. Or vise versa or maybe 7-12 grades.

NE Lincoln Co is Enterprise, as is SE Lincoln Co with Bogue Chitto right in between Enterprise and West Lincoln, with no easy path from NE Lincoln Co to anywhere except Enterprise.

The county school system in Lincoln County isn't hurting for money and no one in the county wants consolidation. All such a thing would do would be to increase taxes for the county district since a very large new school would have to be built. All the schools are performing well academically,  so what would be the justification to raise everyone's taxes for something no one wants?

Enterprise and Bogue Chitto in DE Lincoln. West Lincoln in SW Lincoln, and Loyd Star in NE Lincoln. Nothing wrong with 2 new schools alone 84 known as West Lincoln and East Lincoln. Along 55 known as North Lincoln and South Lincoln.  Either way no need now if current buildings will last for a long time. Just make sure they have computer systems to help improve education, etc.

No need nor desire for consolidation.

Yea, and it’s 3 schools. Lincoln county has 5.

See previous comments to Bert. All good schools - no poor performing, one district office, schools not in easy proximity due to travel for consolidating any unless one central school were to be built... adding undue expense to families in the LCSD.

It's a non-starter.

Smith County though.

Raleigh and Smith County Central - in Taylorsville... think about that.

Good grades and good facilities means less likely to consolidate. Smith and Lincoln are both in better shape than many. What we need to save money is consolidate Superintendent offices in many counties.

East Jasper/West Jasper

Enterprise/Clarke County

Philadelphia/Neshoba County

Brookhaven/Lincoln County

Copiah County/Hazlehurst

Newton City/Newton County/Union

Forest/Scott County

Not sure about Perry County.

And I am not getting into the larger populated counties.

Consolidation when not predicated by administrative failure (ie. failing schools) is detrimental to communities.

Mize and Raleigh are doing great... Taylorsville is struggling right now.

Mt. Olive doesn't have taxpayer base to support the school so Covington County has to help foot the bill to keep Mt. Olive open.

McAdams is the same situation in Attala Co.

Some districts might look to consolidation but many of those you listed have no issues and therefore no need to consider it.

Just because some schools are small doesn't necessarily mean they need to be abolished.

Yes. There should only be one district per county

Taylorsville was an A school last year, though it really wasn’t. The grading system is a scam.
