When someone posts something that is pure fiction, and then claims to know that parents are going to leave the school because of a dreamed-up delusional fallacy, I'll call BS on it every time.

I was told - to my face - by a referee who works with schools in that area that some PCS parents were mad about the MHSAA move and had considered leaving if the school dropped part of their name. I never claimed to KNOW anything for certain. Nothing is certain until it happens. Idek those people.

What I described is my lived experience. It is not disputable by you or anyone else. If that makes you mad or you don’t believe or like it, that’s fine. That’s that’s on you. It does not affect the reality of my lived experience.

It’s clear you’re BIG mad. You real worked up over there. Idk why and it really doesn’t matter. But seriously - it ain’t that deep. Chill.

"Then there's the issue of what the school will be called now. They likely won't be Presbyterian Christian within the MHSAA. So there's a name change coming - and lots of parents are fired up about that too. They want their kids going to a named (Prebyterian) Christian school. Some have even talked about pulling out in protest and creating a new school. But idk if I see that happening. I look for an official change in name but no change in inititals, school colors or mascot. Might we see a Pinebelt Central School? Idk. Will be interesting"

This quote is stated as a fact.

It is not, in fact, a fact.

It is, however, pure fiction.

They are currently listed as Presbyterian Christian School in the reclassification. I just have to believe that if I were sitting in a meeting with MHSAA director and staff and was told to change my school name I may back out of the change over. If it was suggested but not ordered or else then they can except me or not.

The fact that you’re THIS invested over what a random ref told me months ago about a little private school in Forest County is weird. The fact remains it IS what I was told. Maybe he was wrong. So what.

Regardless… geez. Calm down. It’s not like the MHSAA is reading all this messageboard crap and putting stock in or about any of it. They’re not making decisions based on it. It’s not that deep.

But again - congrats. Big winning. Have fun at your parade. 🙄 I’m done responding to the ridiculousness this has spiraled into. Nobody cares that much about a school they don’t even attend. So I’m giving you the final word. Enjoy.

I gotcha and enjoy all you posts here. I always thought simply mentioning that a seat was hot wasn't bashing a person. There are threads here that have been open for months bashing coaches  and the admin at different schools. The candidates in the past that I am aware of(and were subsequently hired) were made aware of the previous coaches deficiencies and straightforward asked how they would deal with things differently. As an example, one school that I am currently aware of, the admin are searching for possibilities and candidates to teach or lead the spring sports which current HC handles. I guess what I'm saying is the problems in this case were created by the HC who has a hot seat and has as much or more to do with off the field issues as during practice or in game etc. Just my thoughts.

Are the expectations at PCS that high that the higher ups are disappointed in the coaching or are the coaches getting fed up with the parents and administration? They have had like 7 coaches in ten years.

Do you see them going Region 8 with St Patrick,  St. Stanislaus, OLA, etc. or you see them going Region 7 with teams north of them? Based on the looks of 3A it appears they'll be on the border of both regions, along with West Marion. One goes north and the other goes south.

PCS seems like it should have been more successful in the MAIS than it was. It has good facilities, and money. It is surrounded by communities with athletes and large public schools from which it could draw talent. There's been a lot of turmoil in the school and the succession of coaches underscores this.

If this school can maintain steady leadership who gets everyone pulling in the direction, it could be sleeping giant.

I think theirs 3 or 4 options. The school is located in south Hattiesburg which i believe they will be in Region 8. Will it be a 5 team region with PCS/West Marion or PCS/Seminary or Tylertown. Something tells me we may get:

OLA.                        Crystal Springs

St Stanislaus.        Franklin County

St Patrick.              Jefferson County

PCS.                        Port Gipson

West Marion.         Hazlehurst

Tylertown.              Quitman

JDC.                        SE Lauderdale

Seminary.               Union

Magee.                   McLaurin

Raleigh.                  Pisgah

PCS will be OK in that Region. My guess is St Andrew's and Noxubee go north.

4 really good teams in MAIS Class 6A. Should have been in 5A But then they would be the only 5A in Hattiesburg area.

This makes the most sense. Well done!

OLA does not play football. They will simply replace Perry Central with PCS and that district will stay the same.

PCS

St Stanislaus.

St Patrick.

Tylertown

West Marion.

OLA

5 Team district in all male sports and 6 team district in female sports.

I'm hearing from some people around Hattiesburg that Lance Mancusso is going to retire this year and may be a front runner to take over that job... Any truth to this you think? could be a great hire and he already knows how to win that league

His offense would definitely fit there very well. I think he would be a good hire. Who would get the JDC job than?
