Not true. Culture is set by the HC. As an assistant, you can’t overrule the HC on discipline of players, expectations, etc. Once you’re the head hancho then you can call the shots.

I figured it was something. Got to know Carl when he was helping a coaching friend of mine Pappy at OMS while he was in college. Didn’t seem like the kind of guy that would be involved in scandalous activities.

This is very true! If you go to Louisville and ask some old timers about Mike Justice or Bobby Hall, or Amory and ask about Bobby Hall, or Batesville and ask about Ed Stanley, you will get one of 2 types of answers, either greatest coach of all time, love him, etc. Or, he was a real piece of crap, awful human, terrible coach. Usually, you can tell if that person was a parent of a player or a player that played a good bit, or one who rode pine. Depends on their individual experience.

I’ve heard he may be a candidate as well.

Johnson is retired, Diffee moved back home to TN, and Embry is a player in the Germantown race to try to get his 4 highest years in before retiring. Fair and Vance could be possible.

Job is already filled, question is, who is their guy?

They ran the score up on awful teams like Nettleton, Alcorn Central, and Belmont. That helps boost averages.
