  1. But I do agree him getting out of the situation for the time being is smart, especially if he has been told he might not be the guy going forward with consolidation.
  2. Point behind that was he interviewed and left, which is what he has tried to do every year. At Lumberton, he put his name in for almost every head coaching opening that came open, just never got the job. Finally got the SE Lauderdale job, and then back tracked and waited for the Magee job when Teddy left. I'd be willing to bet money when the schools consolidate and if they open up the HC job for interviews, he is going to have his name in the hat. I'd also bet money he is going to put his name in for any job worth talking about next year as well. He only stayed at Lumberton as long as he did because he didn't get any of the jobs he put in for.
  3. Jones interviewing/leaving is nothing new. If another job worth talking about comes open next year his name will be thrown out there for it. Learned from Dyess.

    Magee

I’ve seen it’ll be 2023-2024 school year. So 2 years, not 1. My bad.

    Magee

Probably an on staff guy since he will only be HC for a year before consolidating
  6. Diffee is the main one I’ve heard. Not sure how true it is.
  7. I’m sure a few well known candidates will throw their names in it. I would imagine if Diffee wants back in MS, he’ll put in for it
  8. Yep. And with Jones throwing his name into every opening worth talking about that comes available, I’m sure it wouldn’t do him many favors.
  9. Chuckie made it twice. Once during a Covid year due to forfeit and this year. Jones at least has some rings.
  10. Nah. Jones literally puts his name in the discussion for any job worth noting.
  11. That’s who he learned it from
  12. Jones will always throw his name in every opening.
  13. And Collierville openly recruits from around all of Shelby County and DeSoto County.
  14. If you want to make everybody happy, go sell ice cream. Everybody's baby is an all-star and should be starting. Even if in the real world, they probably shouldn't even be dressed out to play due to lack of size and athletic ability. That is the nature of the beast. Every parent thinks their kid should be playing and when they aren't they take it out on the coach. And in turn, player also resents the coach.
  15. He was definitely thrown out as a top candidate
  16. Yeah. They will obviously win the easy division they’re in, but will struggle against the other division’s schools.
  17. Depends on how tough the divisions are.
  18. Would be a good hire. Just not sure how close to retirement he is though.
  19. So are Diffee and Vance the top two candidates for this job?
  20. Well I stand corrected and learned something new. All my grandfather told me was back then it was bowl games, and usually the bigger schools were “considered” champs if they their bowl.
  21. This is more like Ole Miss talking about 1950s. Did not actually WIN one, but claim to have because they had a great year. There were no actual football state champs until 1981.
