I’m not a fan of any offense where you can’t adjust if you get behind on the scoreboard

Was a bit of an overreaction once they went down late in the game but to your point… I can acknowledge most teams would come out 0-2 after playing Starkville and Germantown back to back weeks (they are both championship level teams). Would like to see more consistency from such a veteran group would be my primary concern.

It’s early… but OG is starting to feel like a pretty average 7A team this year.

I’m confused because based off what I read here the last few weeks I expected WJ to boat race Laurel. I thought Hattiesburg looked good and they clearly benefited from all those transfer additions. The usual lack of discipline got in the way.

It was a decent game. OG had several chances to win it. Having the jamboree get cancelled last week certainly didn’t help and they didn’t look as good out the gate as I thought they would with so many seniors. Will be interesting to see if they bounce back against a really good Germantown team.

I think Meridian will really know what they have when they play Starkville. OS looks pretty down at the moment . I will say even when they were rolling Boyles took Meridian to Ocean Springs and won a first round playoff game just a few seasons ago. Good win nonetheless

Meridian had way more athletes on the field than Oceans Springs. As what should be the case anyway. OS looked more like the OS I’m familiar with back in the day. Gulfport must be sucking all the remaining talent from over there.

We will. And admittedly, you’re right, Starkville could give OG some real problems especially Week 1. I just thought it was funny that the whole North bias came out. I couldn’t care less about that debate. OG has held their own far better than any of the other 7A south programs against the North lately.

No clue what happened but if you’re losing championships at West Point.. that’s a pretty spoiled fan base so it wouldn’t surprise me. I think Starkville looks pretty solid on film. Really physical and a lot of athletes with one of the best QBs in the state. But OG is loaded. I could see Starkville giving them fits with their offense as previously mentioned but if OG is sound up front they’ll be fine.

Nah mainly because Starkville will run the ball much more than last year and the clock will roll pretty fast. OG had a bunch of guys starting 7A ball for the first time ever in their matchup last year especially on defense

They got West points coach so it’s basically their offense with a splash of spread. I don’t agree they’ll beat OG handily (I think people forget OG is really good) but they will have to play very disciplined football

Idk about that. OG has a veteran front but it will be a good test. Plus the offense will be pretty deadly.

I’m not mad at the list. Normally Gridiron has a bit of a love fest with Brandon so either the coaches know something the fans don’t (willing to bet this) or they want them to actually prove preseason hype this time around.
