  1. MHSAA voted to move to 7 classifications. Will begin with 23-24 season..
  2. I am hearing current DC Robert Brown is the guy at Harrison Central. Have heard Sam Huff is the guy at East Central. Will see how it all plays out.
  3. I agree. The ease of streaming games now too has hurt as well. WGUD in Jackson County streams a ton of the local high school games and places like OS have their own stream as well. It is just easier to sit at home and watch it.
  4. I honestly do not know if it is possible to build a sustainable, competitive program at Long Beach.
  5. With all of the talk here lately about schools considering consolidation and those that are going forward with it. What are some schools you think would benefit from consolidating? I am curious how many schools across the state could benefit from this and if it is something MDE or MHSAA should try to push to make happen.
  6. I was told from a source that I will say I trust 100% that we are going to 7 classes and reclassification will be as normal as scheduled and we will not see 7 classifications until the 2023 season. I must admit I really thought they would put in place for the 2022 season, but I was wrong. I still think it is a good move overall for the state.
  7. Richard Russo is next HFC at Potts Camp which means Tish County is now open.
  8. You just use the words my and I a lot. Also refer to yourself in the 3rd person too.. So it is easy to paint the picture it is more about you. Not saying it is. Just trying to elaborate on the point I believe he is making.
  9. I do think having the support from players is important, but I agree with your point overall. This is a 6A program, with nice facilities and talent. They will draw some names I would imagine. Be a shame to pass them up for an assistant on staff.
  10. Robert Brown I believe is his name.
  11. I have been told the DC on current staff is a big front runner as well. Kids love him and he has some community support.
  12. What should they follow up with? I mean their last article summed up everything pretty well. I’m sure once the voting is done and we see what happens in April they will publish a story.
  13. It is listed on the Jackson County School District HR section. It is true. I agree as well with you. Should 100% be Sam Huff's job.
  14. Hearing this morning from some friends in Hurley that Eric Collins is resigning from East Central. Expect Sam or Chad Huff to be the next HFC for the Hornets.
  15. That is my point. It is only difficult if you are lazy. Good teams will not have a problem filling their schedule. It is not rocket science. Yeah sure, a 2-8 Hancock probably would not schedule Picayune, but Gulfport, d'Iberville, Poplarville, etc. will. Filling the schedules I promise will be the least difficult part of doing reclassification now. My brother was an AD in Louisiana for almost 20 years. He said scheduling for any sport was not difficult at all.
  16. I agree I do not see it happening in 2022, but I 1,000% disagree on how hard scheduling will be. I know Kat French at Biloxi has 5 non-region games tentatively ready to be scheduled right now if they announced it today. Scheduling games would be the least logistical issue of this whole thing. I promise 90% of the coaches in this state right now have multiple games already in the works to happen if it passes.
  17. Well I have remained silent because at this point, I do not know what to trust, or who to believe. However, I was told by someone connected to executive committee that vote is happening in April to start reclass for 2022 season and move to 7 classifications starting this 2022 season. Was also told it is 90% positive to pass with most everyone on board. Again, at this point, I do not know what to think or believe to be true. So I plan to just wait a few more weeks and see what happens.
  18. I was told by a friend up that way that Hattiesburg is changing gears offensively. He would not elaborate what exactly that meant but said it was going to be different than anything Vance is known for. Any truth to that??
  19. Looking at their schedule. I think 2-2 is best case scenario. I just do not see them beating Ocean Springs or Oak Grove. Petal and Meridian will not be cake walks either. They very well could go 4-0. I just do not see it.
  20. Love the Hattiesburg guys. They could be 0-4 and not score a single point, and they will find some positive in it and boost their team for the most part. They always believe.
  21. I agree 100%. If they are not going to turf the Vet, then they need to rotate it between the 3 D1 stadiums we have.
  22. I would not mind that move if they had been real successful over his tenure but they have consistently been inconsistent. Sort of my sentiments with St. Martin. No real success . A lot of up and down. No real reason to promote an assistant in those situations.
  23. Deljay Bailey has been far from big time anytime I have seen him play in person. He is a nice 7v7 thrower, but I was not impressed with him overall. He will not be a huge difference maker for Petal in my opinion.
  24. Will affect Mendenhall a good bit. His son was their starting QB and from all accounts is a really good player. Big loss for them and huge gain for St. Martin.
