I take full blame for this crappy showing by Ole Miss. I was finally able to be home for a home game this year. I won’t go to another game if this is the case.
-
2007 is when West Bolivar beat a Billy Hamilton Taylorsville team. Gotta be the 2012 Bassfield team who blew out a good Eupora team in the championship.
-
3A Region 4 got a little crazier last night with Winona beating Noxubee County 31-26. Most had Noxubee County as the 3A favorite.
-
Last I saw 30 people were shot and 10 had passed away. There was also a shooting at Rolling Fork.
-
Bay Springs struggles on offense? I never would’ve guessed it by watching this game. They’re beating themselves with penalties yet still lead 12-0 to end the 1Q. Enterprise has -5 yards on 2 drives.

Was quite surprised didn’t hear any Chris Beard to Auburn after the Pearl unexpected retirement.

@Dawg83Last year SEC was like the old Big East. I grew up loving that conference.
-
@Dawg83 I think we can both be top five teams in the conference but like you said it’s a bunch of new faces so the verdict is still out. I think the conference still goes through Florida. They’re going to be very tough. I think Cal will have Arkansas as a contender this year. They’re my #2 team in the conference. I expect Auburn and Bama to take a step back this year. Tennessee and UK will be there but nothing special. I def don’t see the conference being as tough as it was last year. My Top 5 Prediction: 1. Florida 2. Arkansas 3. Mississippi St 4. Ole Miss 5. Kentucky

All I know of right now is remember the name Ilias Kamardine. The French assassin. Young man is going to be our biggest piece if we want to be what most think we can be. He reminds me of a slightly smaller but more all around version of Brakefield from last year. Supposedly our backcourt is going to be better than last year but it’s full of new faces so that’s a wait and see. AJ Storr will be the main new face in that group. He’s looked sharp so far as a facilitator. My verdict is still unknown yet about this group. Lost way too much production from this group to immediately be optimistic. Got a lot more length in the front court this year but other than Dia, it’s transfers so another wait and see. I’m loving what I’ve been seeing from the Louisville transfer James Scott. He’s going to help Dia out a lot. If LSU transfer Corey Chest can get it all together instead of being a here and there highlight machine that group could be special. Should see a good bit of production from freshmen Tylis Jordan and Patton Pinkins. Both top 100 players in this last class. The potential is there. Can they come together as a group is the question. Will know more on Oct 26th when we play an exhibition against an always good St. Mary’s team that’s predicted to be a tournament team again.

They must’ve just added Lacy because he wasn’t on it a couple days ago.
-
We currently have a D2 QB that’s in the top ten of Heisman candidates who was the 60th ranked QB in the transfer portal. Why was he ever at Ferris St? 0 star with no D1 offers out of high school. There’s evaluators out there who thought Zach Calzada and Nico’s brother were light years better than him.
-
I mean he was the 153rd ranked RB with just 1 offer. Kiffin didn’t take any RB’s in that class. He went with 4 transfers instead. There was 5 other RB’s ranked ahead of him in just the state alone. Diamonds slip through the cracks unnoticed sometimes.
-
If he wants to stack W’s my guess would be South Pontotoc or make a rivalry with Water Valley. Coffeeville or Bruce might have an open date. Might as well add a 3rd Memphis school to the schedule because 2 doesn’t seem like enough that doesn’t bring much of a crowd and ticket sales.
-
Kinda what I was thinking. They’re a 5A team and I wouldn’t consider Hernando a weak team. Friday night will be the decider whether they finish 2nd or 3rd in Region 1 of 5A.
-
Part of me hates that we were so close to having him and Lacy but no way both the guys would’ve been getting the same amount of touches as they do if in same backfield with this offense so he made the right decision.
-
I’ve been trying to convince the ol lady on Wellsgate for awhile now.
-
Not sure. The powers that be said it was a classification thing but they’ve already played and beaten 2 other 7A teams this year which I’m sure will be back on the schedule next year.
-
You now have kids that live in Taylor and Abbeville going to Oxford whereas before they had to go to Lafayette. Not sure if a zoning was changed or what. I hate that we’re losing this rivalry in baseball. Rest of the sports were definitely getting a gap between them. Crazy that this is for all sports. Never seen such a thing. I could understand if one was 7A and the other 1A.
-
A game that’s flying under the radar is South Florida @ North Texas Friday night. Has GO5 playoff implications.
-
@Blakeremember when I had you find us this current house because it was in the Lafayette school district? We now need one in Oxford school district because of this scaredy cat nonsense.
-
As for things haven’t changed at all since 93, well we have won a Super Bowl since then. There’s still teams looking to do that. Post 93 they were still a .500 team rebuilding a defense that basically lost the Dome Patrol which is arguably one of the best LB groups in NFL history. Since then we’ve been a team that goes on a run for a few years then digresses for a few years. That’s what we’re in now. Yes it looks a lot more bleak. Unfortunately I don’t think we’re going to see any improvement until we get some new blood in front office positions. All I know is we better not waste our 1st round pick this next draft getting Nussmeier just because his dad is the OC. Our biggest problem has been getting out of the red when it comes to salary cap which we are now.

Next step to basketball season?

I was born in LA. Spent half my life in LA. Remember my dad screaming at the tv as one of the bag on the head Saints fans. To be honest I’m basically a teenage Ole Miss fan by heart because I grew up a LSU fan with a dad that graduated there and a cousin who was a bad arse RB there Jacob Hester. Wife an Ole Miss fan, I live in Oxford and attended Cal and LA Tech so when in Rome.

@Bulldogs4its getting close to flag football each year. Here’s my NFL rant. I don’t care what college you went to. If you go against the Saints you’re the enemy. So many Saints fans here in Oxford were Giants fans today. Ridiculous. I know State/Commanders fans who were fans when they were the Redskins pull for the Cowboys because of Dak. You can’t be a Cowboys/Commanders fan. That’s like a Saints fan being a Falcons fan or a Yankees fan being a Red Sox fan.
