I’ve got the Biggersville/Hamilton one up there simply because I think Hamilton who is returning a solid unit and being overlooked by some ranking systems could pull off the early season upset and add their name as a possible contender in 2A North. I gotta show the small schools some love.

Interested in seeing the team y’all put out there this year. On paper looks like could be a rebuilding year, but if history serves anything it’s Picayune is accustomed to reloading not rebuilding so can’t ever count y’all out.

In no particular order. Your thoughts/predictions? I’m going out on a limb and picking a Hamilton upset over defending 1A champs. Bay Springs at Raleigh (Thursday) Biggersville at Hamilton Brandon at Picayune Charleston at Ripley Petal at Hattiesburg (Saturday) Grenada at Oak Grove Louisville at West Point Starkville at Noxubee County Taylorsville at Mize West Jones at Laurel Three Honorable Mentions Choctaw County at Parklane Academy Poplarville at JDC Clarksdale at Cleveland Central (This rivalry has become as heated as the delta temp) MAIS Game of the Week #1 in 5A ACCS at #2 in 6A Jackson Prep

From the highlights I saw, Caleb Cunningham showed why he’s a five star WR. Very impressed with Louisville’s group of WR’s. They’ve got length and speed. Choctaw County’s Jeremiah Miller at RB should be getting plenty more looks from D1 schools this upcoming year. https://x.com/calebcunning13/status/1827391590802846183?s=46&t=AP0_RymTp1SB6dY_84dfNA Game highlights https://youtu.be/eOiS_M0d3Bg?si=PNpxn8EWGdraw34z Also, Choctaw County looks pretty big upfront. Especially for a 3A school.

Other than y’all’s own game, which game are y’all most looking forward to watching? I’m sure the three obvious choices are Clemson/Georgia, USC/LSU and Notre Dame/Texas A&M? Of the three I’m actually going to say surprisingly Notre Dame/Texas A&M. Gives us an opportunity to see if Notre Dame is a for real top ten team and to see if Mike Elko can get a signature first big win with the Aggies that’ll set them up nicely as the season goes on. They got a good draw of the schedule with only 3 remaining top 25 teams left(Missouri, LSU and Texas) on their schedule and all being at home. Also other than someone on your team, what player are you most interested in seeing this week? I’m split between Nico Iamaleava and Garrett Nussmeier. Will get to see if Iamaleava can live up to the hype Tennessee fans have been raving about. Should have nice numbers against Chattanooga. His big test will be week 2 against NC State. With Nussmeier, right out the gate we’ll see if he can build off an impressive bowl outing against Wisconsin. Unless USC improved defensively he should be out to put up decent numbers again.

Has anyone heard of a game last night where Shots were fired?

Last I heard there were 6 people arrested at the Laurel/Heidelberg game. -
Ole Miss will be without Juice for a couple weeks because he got cut and needed stitches. Luckily I’m talking about Juice Kiffin. Juice Wells on the other hand by all reports is 100% and been looking outstanding so far. These 7 days need to hurry up!!!

First two games we’ve had a top ten upset and a FCS school mounting a 17 point 4th quarter comeback against a FBS school. Welcome back college football.
-
Lol it’s week 0 so it’s understandable. We’re all just working out the kinks.
-
Ole Miss doesn’t play Georgia Tech. They play Wake Forest this year.

Seems like a lot of that went on last night. Game between East Marion and Seminary was stopped because of fights.
