  1. Mizzou beat OM 72-60. Man, I hope this doesn't hurt OM's NCAA tourney chances.**
  2. OM OF Kevin Graham out for 4 weeks with a wrist injury. Graham was hitting .308 with 4 HRs, 17 RBIs, 3 BBs, and 9 runs scored. That's a big hit to the lineup, hopefully it ends up only 4 weeks.

3.99 per gallon today. That's almost a $1 per gallon more than when I filled up 2 weeks ago. Looks like I'll keep the hybrid on the road for a while and keep the gas guzzlers parked. Hitting $5 per gallon is pretty possible in MS.

Times have certainly changed. When I had that truck gas was between 80-90 cents per gallon, putting my foot in it didn't matter as much.

My first vehicle was a 67 Chevy with a 4BBL 350. It averaged 8 MPG.

    16-18 MPG on a V6? Sounds like a Dodge?? I have a Tundra with a V8 that gets 18 MPG on average.

I got a hybrid about 2 1/2 years ago and love it. 55-60 MPG.
  8. The transfer portal changed recruiting a ton.
  9. Yep, MSU being a national seed is almost off the table... even this early. MSU is still in good shape to host a regional if they start winning most of their games. Agreed, lots of time to right the ship.
  10. OM picks up the series with a 9-1 win today.
  11. SEC tourney seedings are set. 13 seed OM faces 12 seed Missouri on Wednesday. 10 seed MSU faces 7 seed A&M on Thursday.
  12. Ole Miss has had many of these seasons. When the pitching is on, the hitting is off. When the hitting is on, the pitching is off. Most of the time, that happens to Ole Miss late in the season though- when it really matters. MSU has typically been a late season bloomer. I wouldn't count them out.
  13. Ole Miss lost to Vandy to finish 13th in the SEC on the men's team. The Ole Miss ladies made it to the Semi Finals of the SECT before losing to South Carolina.
  14. OM pitching was great today. 11 scoreless innings before giving up 1 run in the 12th. OM batting was bad today. 3 hits and 0 runs in 12 innings. It was definitely a pitcher's dual game. MSU vs Tulane was just the opposite. Tulane won 11-10 in the 10th innings. That had to be a fun slugfest to watch.
  15. Now that the OM game is over, I checked other scores. MSU up 15-1 over Tulane in the 6th inning. Looks like MSU found the bats tonight! #4 Oklahoma State lost 4-3 to Gonzaga. #8 NC State lost 6-1 to Northwestern. #17 Tennessee and #1 Texas are scoreless in the second. That's a great OOC series to follow this weekend.
  16. OM squeaks out an 8-7 win at UCF. The SEC schedule may be rough on Friday nights for OM. We'll see.
  17. Oh man, hopefully it isn't serious.
  18. It seems like a popular opinion (not just here, pretty much everywhere): Howland likely won't be at MSU next year, Davis will be at Ole Miss next year. MSU is 17-13 overall, 8-9 in the SEC. OM is 13-17 overall, 4-13 in the SEC. OM has certainly dealt with injuries this season, but still... I can see arguments for keeping Howland/Davis or moving on from Howland/Davis. It's a tad odd how different the two are viewed as "deserving another year" vs "time to move on".
  19. I looked up the score just now, USM won 7-1. An odd stat line, USM scored 7 runs on 7 hits while MSU scored 1 run on 7 hits. MSU had 0 errors while USM had 2 errors. It kind of looks like MSU's hitting isn't timely (leaving runners on base too much) and possibly walking too many runners to the opposing team in this one. Either way, like I said above... it's not how you start, it's how you finish. MSU has a history of putting up a good (not great) regular season but getting hot when it matters.
  20. OM wins 11-1 over ULM in 7 innings tonight. 8-0 with 5 of those wins ending early in run rules. The competition has been far from strong so far, but still hard to find any faults with this start. It's all how you finish though.
  21. College baseball has (thankfully) changed a lot the past 5ish years. ESPN FINALLY has a college baseball scoreboard on the APP. Before that, I had to go to D1's site to try to find OM baseball scores or look on twitter with following the OM baseball account.
  22. I only pay attention to the one that ranks Ole Miss highest.** Kidding aside, those seem to be the most popular two.
  23. College Baseball polls always vary, a LOT... especially early in the season. OM is 6-0 and has run ruled half of those 6 wins, one can argue the #2 ranking. OM also has played a weak schedule so far, one can also argue the #10 ranking... or even lower. I've never been a fan of preseason or season polls until after the third weekend of conference play. I say that about EVERY sport, it's just guessing up until then. It's still some guessing at that point, but you have a real sample size for all teams to get some kind of idea how good teams are.
  24. Ouch, that will hurt MSU in the RPI... but how much does baseball use that anyway? Baseball has more weird weekends than any of the major sports, it's very unpredictable and the regular season means very little compared to how teams are playing in May/June.
