Yo and the OM Ladies advance to the sweet 16 beating #1 seed Stanford.
-
Things definitely look on the right track for OM and MSU women's hoops. I really like the effort by Yo's players and the style of defensive play. They remind me of Summitt at UT. Before anyone claims I'm comparing Yo to Summitt, don't take it out of context. The "in your face defense and 100% effort/no quit attitude" is the only thing I'm comparing. Yo would have to win 8 NCAA championships before being in the same conversation as Summitt as an overall coach.

Road series are tough to win in the SEC. #6 Vandy swept #3 Ole Miss. Kentucky swept MSU. Missouri is leading #2 Tennessee 5-1 in the 5th today and may pick up a sweep over them. #1 LSU had a very impressive weekend taking 2 of 3 at #15 A&M. #16 South Carolina picked up a sweep at Georgia which is pretty impressive also. MSU and OM host next weekend but it's against (current) #6 Vandy and #5 Florida, which certainly will be a tough weekend.

Vandy completes the sweep over OM today, 7-2.
-
Ole Miss women advance tonight over Gonzaga. Beating Stanford in the next round probably won't happen. Even so, still a good year in the process for Coach Yo.
-
I was thinking MSU was a lower seeded regional host in 2021. Yeah, not the best example.
-
Vandy has drilled OM the first two games of the opening SEC series for these two teams. IF OM wants to repeat as National Champions, they'll obviously have to play better. The past two National Championship teams have proven though, you can have less than wanted regular season results and still end up winning it all.
-
Vandy run ruled OM 12-2 in the 8th inning tonight.
-
I didn't know the NIT started yesterday also. USM lost to UAB in the first NIT round last night. Andy KeNIT is the UAB coach. Hate to see USM lose so quickly but happy for AK.
-
MSU put up a heckuva fight, as did Pitt. Pitt picks up the play in game win. Very nice first season for Jans at MSU.
-
This midweek pitching for Ole Miss is... yuck. Jacksonville State took the game 10-6 tonight. Once Elliot is healthy, I like the depth to fix this.
-
As with any coaching change, some players will be lost and some new players will be gained. We'll see next season if the gains are > than the losses.
-
I wouldn’t bet against that.
-
Ole Miss hired Chris Beard. This will be... interesting.
-
MSU women also got a play in game for the NCAAT. 11 seed play in vs Illinois in the South Carolina regional. OM women are an 8 seed vs Gonzaga with Stanford up next should they win the first game.
-
18-12 may win the SEC this year. I don't see too many sweeps happening, we'll see.
-
Next weekend will start SEC play, which is always a tough slate. The next 6 weekends for Ole Miss: @#7 Vandy #6 Florida @#15 A&M #8 Arkansas @ Mississippi State #1 LSU There's also a midweek game with #22 Southern Miss in that mix.
-
As I said all year, an NIT bid would be a success for Jans with it being his first year. NCAAT as a play in game is gravy on the success biscuit of a year.
-
Rebs complete the sweep of Purdue with a 6-1 win today.
-
Tulane lost and UAB is down 48-27 early in the second half. MSU looks pretty safe to get a bid.
-
Yep, I've been following the Memphis/Tulane score... it's 42-17 Memphis at the half. I think that potential stolen bid can be crossed off.
-
Vandy lost, so they're doubtful to take a bid. Ohio State lost also, they were another potential bid taker had they won the Big 10 conference. So far, so good for MSU.
-
Looking over the "last 4 in" and "first 4 out", Vandy is the only one still playing. Vandy is getting beat down at halftime, looks like they'll be NIT bound.
-
Purdue gave OM all they wanted today, OM takes the win 7-6 in 10 innings.
-
Vandy is certainly working their chances into the NCAAT, I lean they'd take someone else's bid instead of MSU's.
