  1. I personally don’t think they should. I take entering the portal as meaning packing up your dorm room and going back home until you can get checked in to your new school/employer.
  2. I still refer to the bowl game in Mobile as the GMAC Bowl LOL!
  3. So the way I'm understanding this, is the path to the playoff easier than the path to the SEC Championship Game? I have a feeling it will be because there's going to be such a log jam at the top in regards to the SEC title game. Heck there may even be an advantage to missing the SEC championship game as well.
  4. Wammies is saying 10 wins is a bust and you're saying 10 wins isn't. Either way it's a good problem to have.
  5. You're just asking for some ebb aren't you? LOL!
  6. I'm just glad I ain't wastin' money on that LOL! Buying tickets and lodging for one game a year is challenging enough.
  7. That’s absolutely correct. In order to maximize the buyout they had to extend the contract. They may paint it up to make it look like it benefits Kiffin, but in reality it’s doing the opposite.
  8. There really ain’t nothing to that. It’s just Ole Miss covering their butts and getting the most money out of whoever hires him away whenever that will be.
  9. Who wants to coach rigged football? LOL!

    Pearl

So is it not Benjie Merchant? He’s not a head coach, but that would still make for an interesting game next year when Pearl plays Oak Grove.
  11. https://www.on3.com/college/ole-miss-rebels/news/4-star-wr-noreel-white-decommits-from-ole-miss-rebels/ Here's the article. It tends to make you think it's legitimate.
  12. Stretch, shot in the arm, reaching for the stars, etc. I’ll take any of it. LOL!
  13. We were talking earlier about how if State gets to 6-6 it’ll be a good year. If State can get Dowdell, it’ll make an immediate difference in that trajectory. He’s an immediate day 1 starter and he would make more of a difference at Mississippi State. An 8 or 9 win season is extremely feasible with him in the boat.
  14. I remember when Dodd had him on varsity as a freshman. He was behind Cam Thomas, but you knew there was something very special about him.
  15. One he could fill and then some. We needed him against West Jones LOL!
  16. I’d really like to see him in Maroon & White. He’s such a great kid. Very well mannered and kind.
  17. Sorry that’s news to me too LOL! It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
  18. Well there's going to be a risk with any hire, doesn't matter what the credentials look like. Orange Beach is a brand new school and they started playing football in 2020. It was a bad year for him no doubt about that, but he was able to post a winning record with Orange Beach in 2022, so maybe he lost a lot of talent from that team.
  19. I don't think all of Boyles' assistants at Meridian would leave for Petal. This is high school football and some of that wouldn't be feasible. This is a hire that Meridian needs to get right, so if it takes time it takes time.
  20. That's just a round about way of saying that they are going to do the exact same thing next year as they did this year. The schedule should be pretty much the same with the home and away reversed. If they get the same results next year as they got this year, I'll be surprised. They didn't go get this coach so that they could be mediocre again. Will they be? It's possible, but I think the odds will be greater for them to get to 7+ wins than it will be for them to lay an egg and get less than 6 wins.
  21. Jeff Lebby doesn't need to perform miracles, he just needs to get State to playing good football again. (win or lose)
  22. I don't think that would necessarily qualify him for that, but to get to 6 wins would definitely be quite the accomplishment with all of the overhaul that will need to take place. The conference away games are brutal and so you can't count on those as wins, but if you can win all of the non-conference games and get a couple of the home games to go State's way, then it'll be mission accomplished. I think the main thing is can State consistently field a competitive team every week. That may not result in wins, but as long as State is fundamentally better it'll be a step in the right direction.
