Oh I know. Might as well put up the big top and bring in some elephants and monkeys.

Well State farted around and won a baseball game and then Ole Miss lost to a college I’ve never heard of before called High Point. Maybe they were riding a high that pointed them in the right direction to a victory. Either way it’s pretty bad that the apathy has sat in so early with both of these ball clubs. Definitely not a good place to be.

Afterall, we did get Jimmy Johnson to come to Picayune as an assistant for 1 season. Anything can happen.

They've never won a state title, never won a district title, and they've only won 32% of their games since the school's creation. It'll definitely be a challenge, but I'm not sure if it's a good job. If you're looking to get your foot in the door in Mississippi from Arkansas, maybe it provides an opportunity for you. Who knows?

I'm hoping they'll have one by March 13th because I got tickets LOL! I wanna get my money's worth in Biloxi and not get shortchanged by a clown show.

I knew we needed to have lowered expectations, but what I didn't know is that those expectations needed to be tethered/anchored to the ground. Could we at least have a hovercraft so that we can have a space between the floor and the ground?

Oh, and the post game press conferences are a complete joke. It's flat out embarrassing.

Yes and no Brick. Let's get to the yes part first. The yes is yes it feels like a continuation of last season. Now let's get to the no part. No, we cannot afford to sit here and suffer with this atrocity of a coaching staff/HC. Which brand of dynamite should we use? Atlas, Hercules, Du Pont, or Nobel? I'm sure any of it will suffice.

Great 2nd half adjustments by Coach Jans. Solid win for State. I’m just glad it didn’t depend upon free throw shooting LOL.

It’s like dejavu all over again. If first impressions are everything, then it feels like we’ve seen this before. And if you’re State, why do you want a repeat of last year? It feels like we’ve picked back up right where we left off last year. I would love for this team to make some positive strides, but where’s the evidence that’s going to happen?

There used to be an OG on this board from way back in the day called "Tartartodeath" or something like that. I reckon things kind of faded when it made the switch from independent to the Scout & 247 networks, then back to independent. I'm sure there's some Taylorsville folks with some insights, but they just don't post on here anymore.

Any relation to Malcolm Courtney who coached Bassfield many moons ago?

Lemonis needs belly room under the limbo bar so you can't set it too low. Maybe if it's too low, you just go over it instead of trying to go under it. There's honestly no telling what's going to happen, but if he wants to save his job he needs to show improvements and those improvements will need to equate to wins.

Well @Vott and @Deonte3455I've been thinking about this today. This year marks 100 years since Hattiesburg last won a state title in football. I reckon it would be a pretty picture if y'all could get it done, but then I get to thinking about assets and liabilities and then I get brought back down to reality again. I guess I'm just ready to see what this season holds. If there is even a remote possibility that Hattiesburg can get it done this year, Vance will need to get out of his own way and not become that liability come playoff time. I feel like that has kind of been his Achilles heel. If he can treat the playoffs like they are the regular season and that he's not having to play Petal, then he's got a sporting chance if this is his last ride with Hattiesburg. It won't be an easy road but if there's a year for Hattiesburg to get it done, this has got to be it.

In other words, the strike zone should cantilever over to the white edge of the batters box closest to home plate. That actually makes sense. Hopefully they will call it that way and then I think it takes some of the pressure off of the pitchers. It makes you wonder why they had the strike zone so small to begin with.

Just pull for The River LOL! They are #3 in the country and have only lost one game so far. I feel like the X factor for State will be Justin Parker. If he can get the pitchers to do better and throw strikes, then it will cool off Lemonis' derrière. If it turns out to be a flop, then you're just gonna have to blow the thing up and start over. I honestly feel like State will have improvement though, but I just don't know how much. Will they even make the SEC tournament and the NCAA tournament? I think they can and I think they should, but anything after that is anyone's guess.

New fieldhouse going up at Picayune’s Cathedral. Definitely been a long time coming, but it was needed.
-
Did they leave Picayune's Memorial Stadium out of it?
-
No I haven't got it. I didn't even know it existed before you posted about it. If definitely sounds like an interesting book. I'm sure it will have The Ray and Watkins Field in it. I'd be curious about the other 45 though.

Bloody Jimbo would just wind up getting bloodier. I would think that ship has sailed.

Would that be an away game for Oak Grove? Regardless it's a great opening game to start the season.

There was a glaring stat that cost State the ballgame and that is turnovers and points off turnovers. If State didn't turn the ball over, they wouldn't lose that game. You can't go on the road in the SEC and not protect the basketball and expect to win. Maybe they'll get better at that.
