  1. It's not weather related. Within the last several years MHSAA has made the last regular season game on Thursdays. Last week 1A-4A had to play on Thursday night to conclude their regular seasons as well. The only games that should be scheduled for this Friday night are 1A-4A 1st round playoff games.
  2. I can assure you 4A South doesn't have Louisville in their mouth all the time. 4A South has Columbia and The Pass to deal with this year. Because you brought up "bad taste" I guess Poplarville beating y'all last year didn't taste the same. Whichever team from 4A South that the 4A North representative has to play will have their hands full.
  3. Once you've fried in the sun and got soaked to the point a poncho does no good, it really doesn't matter what the weather is like. I've sat in freezing cold too. For me, it gets to be like water rolling off of a duck's back.
  4. A 5th year Senior doesn't sound like a big deal, but since this is high school it kind of becomes one. I'd hate it for the other kids on the Salem team, but rules are rules.
  5. That's crazy. 1 bad apple ruins the whole bushel.
  6. If your definition of "FUN" is anxiety to the max, then I'll probably need the anesthetic administered by Moe, Larry, & Curly. LOL
  7. Stone hasn't lost a game since their QB came back from injury against Stanislaus. Keep your eyes on them. If there happens to be a Stone vs. Brookhaven matchup for 5A South State, it'll be a dang war.
  8. I also think homefield advantage is kind of a non-factor as well. Playing on the road seems to have been the norm this year, especially for Hattiesburg and Picayune. When Picayune plays PRC tomorrow night, it will only be the 4th home game of the year.
  9. @Vottdo you think Goula can beat the #1 seed from Region 3 in the second round? Because that would be the only path for us to face them again.
  10. Strategically lost by 2. But I don't know if the math lines up for us to face them again.
  11. That would have to be the lower classifications because 5A-7A is already going to play this Thursday night.
  12. Exactly. You can't unsee what you've seen once you've seen it. I'm not even a Columbia fan, but they made a believer out of me. They truly are the real deal.
  13. But this Columbia team is different. They're hungry and they've got the "it" factor. If I have to eat crow, I'll gladly do so. I'll even let you choose your method of preparation.
  14. I would expect Columbia to win the whole shebang. The rest is just sacrificial lamb shopping LOL.
  15. Here's the overall scoring for the "5" favorites so far: Region 1 Grenada 299-160 South Panola 289-218 Lake Cormorant 265-153 Region 2 Ridgeland 348-183 Warren Central 281-173 Based off of this information Grenada, Lake Cormorant, Ridgeland, & Warren Central can all score and they all pretty much have fair defenses. South Panola can score, but they are the only one so far that has eclipsed 200 points allowed so they aren't as good defensively as the rest. Based solely off of this information South Panola looks like the odd man out. I also realize there are a whole lot more factors to consider as well.
  16. Yes they are. If Poplarville had a dang defense they would have had a chance to pull an upset because they would have gotten some stops. I just don’t see that improving for them because they are who they are at this point.
  17. They played Poplarville Thursday night and that was an awesome environment for football. The home and visitors sides were jam packed and felt like an old school late round playoff game.
  18. Columbia rolls and wins their last football game of the season.
  19. I’m tired of Laurel falling upwards. Gravity needs to do it’s job.
