  1. Any guys with closer ties to that community than myself have any idea who the early frontrunners to be the next HC at Stone are?? I would think coordinators at Picayune or Poplarville or at some of the better nearby Hattiesburg area programs would be interested. Anybody have names?
  2. I understand and respect your POV, but Vancleave did beat a region winner first round of the playoffs. Unless you don't qualify Hattiesburg as an "actually good ball club."
  3. As someone who spent three years teaching and coaching at MPSD, I could not be happier that they are getting a coach of Feaster's quality. Coach Harmon is a class act and I'm hoping for a smooth transition. I am well aware of the challenges the district and community face, but there are some high-quality adults there giving their all for the athletes and students of MP.
  4. I thought it was odd not to have the River Bowl vs EC as the season finale for Vancleave, but I can get used to seeing you guys there. Can't wait.
  5. The last several seasons, Coach Feaster has taken multiple bye weeks and Stone has only played 8 regular season games, I thought it was odd, but it evidently benefitted them in 2022.
  6. Asst football coach on high school staff
  7. No. It would make Pascagoula, Gautier, Ocean Springs, Moss Point, Vancleave, St Martin, and East Central all located in one Jackson County School District. The individual high schools can still operate.
  8. According to Brandon Shields, former Petal HC, Marcus Boyles, has been hired as HC at Meridian.
  9. Yes Twitter The OSHS principal posted that two dates needed to be filled and Brandon Shields replied he had good word that one of the dates was filled by Natchez. The OSHS principal then replied, confirming this.
  10. I've seen confirmed in a TWTR thread with Brandon Shields and the OSHS principal that Natchez has also been added to the 2023 schedule.
  11. Vancleave vs. East Central is the Pascagoula River Bowl. Pascagoula vs. Gautier is the Singing River Classic. Pascagoula vs Moss Point is Battle of the Cats.
  12. Can't speak for EC, but Vancleave is passing a bit more than 2-3x per game.
  13. Part of the reason Picayune only scored 7 in the 1Q last Friday was Vancleave ran a good bit of time off the clock on it's opening possession of the game that ended with a missed FG, as well as recovering the fumble on defense at the goal line on Picayune's second possession. I 100% agree with you @coastfootballfanman - Vancleave must win time of possession this Friday and limit how many drives GC gets on offense. That's the key.
  14. Continuing Vancleave game previews for 2022 Region 4-5A Schedule
  15. When I left the Vancleave vs Picayune game Fri nite my first thought was: Death Taxes The 2022 'Yune Defense Allowing Exactly 7 PPG
  16. Hartfield. Not Hartsfield. @EnterpriseBulldogsFan
  17. Yes! I was fortunate enough to be there as an assistant while I attended MC for two very good years. A runner-up finish in 03 ending 8-4 with a two point playoff lost at Oak Forest (LA) in 03 and an 8-4 year as division champ with another playoff loss at home to OFA in 04. Coach Granberry and Coach Barrett were very good to me.
  18. Man that sounds like a wild roller coaster. The only HS game I coached or saw in OT was back in 2003 when I coached at Central Hinds in the MAIS. Game was vs Manchester from Yazoo City. Back then possession began on the 10 yard line. Overtime started 7-7 and we had ball first and kicked a FG. On 4th and Goal from the 3 on Manchester's possession, they ran a QB bootleg, the QB was hit at the 2 and fumbled forward into the end zone. By rule, only he could recover his own fumble, when it's fumbled forward, but the MA guard fell on it and the crew gave MA the TD and the win, 13-10. An awful feeling that nite.
  19. From what I understood from the live updates from Corinth Football's TWTR account last nite: 14-14 at end of regulation 21-21 at end of first OT Corinth scored on first possession of 20T and went for 2 before it was required (29-21 now) Caledonia then scored on their possession of 2OT and their conversion play was no good (Final 29-27 Corinth)
  20. THURSDAY FINALS Corinth 29 Caledonia 27 in 2OT / Final Holmes County Central 50 Forest Hill 20 / Final
  21. For all y'all interested in this week's Picayune at Vancleave matchup (both sides) @SlickandDave on TWTR from the Talkin' Ball Y'all podcast have a great game preview on SoundCloud that includes their takes as well as an interview with VHS HC Kevin Fant. Y'all check it out. I circled back to add the link for this - here y'all go: Podcast
