I'm not quite sure what any exact radius parameters are but the private schools along the Mississippi River that left MHSAA for MAIS were schools that had out of state players, after one of the Delta private schools won state in MHSAA with out of state players, if I remember correctly
There are other private schools that recruit in MHSAA (TCPS, St Stan, St Patrick, St Andrew's) so the only players that would be ineligible had GCS joined MHSAA would be the few players that live out of state
@Vott - I would really love to know if you know if that coach was brought back for another season or not because, clearly, his priorities were out of whack.
@CrimsonUnit1988 your RB #22 Howell runs very hard downhill and I could see him having success if he gets a hot hand and gets a run of carries - I was impressed watching him vs Vancleave - he gashed us for several big gainers including a long score
I absolutely agree - your point is a fair statement - it should be an instant classic
I'm taking Picayune by one score but won't be shocked if GC pulls it out - it's really a toss up
Vancleave and Laurel are tied with the lowest enrollment of all 5A schools. That is the reason there are 33 teams in 5A this season and next, with Region 2 getting an extra region game and nine teams in that league.
That's fair - I could've been more specific
My point was in the game I watched them play they had multiple running backs all with different assets in the running game that all contributed on a big offensive nite for them - yes it's mostly a ground attack, as has always been the case, but they have 3-4 backs that can all break the big play and each have unique intangibles that contribute to their offense
I've seen both teams play this season as well, I think the difference in the matchup will be Picayune's depth of offensive skill-position players. I'll take the Tide by 8, 38-30.
