Im more pointing at Hattiesburg’s qb play and coaching. I feel like the qb is their weakness as he tends to panic and get happy feet and not see a wide open wr or throws way off target. I watched the terry game and feel like several qb decisions are the only things that stopped a few drives. west absolutely must get pressure sending no more than 5 and not blitz the safety so much. Several times we got beat with big pass plays when caught blitzing the safety. Cause it’s easy to see coming.

Yes. And 5A was the largest 32 schools. So the cutoff from 32 and 33 (largest 4A at the time) was 1030-1032. Yet now the 18th largest in the state has 1030.

Wow those numbers are way lower than I expected across the board. I remember 2003 Wayne county dropped from 5A to 4A with 1030 and West Point moved from 4A to 5A with 1032.

Hattiesburg’s defense is championship caliber. I would say bout like wests 2022 defense. But not to the level of 2023. West has seen a team with the weapons Hattiesburg has, maybe a better blend of weapons and coaching, in Jackson Prep. And we saw how that ended for west. Hattiesburg has not faced as physical if an offense as west has. But it’s not like it can’t be slowed down. I personally think Hattiesburg has more motivation and will likely win this one.

I guess I lost that one in the pike of L’s.

They have 0 district wins. If they beat Gautier to give them 1 they will still not have a head to head advantage vs anyone they would be tied with.
