Started in the spring right after. Went through last season. Another poster on here who’s a sportswriter locally and interviews all the coaches even said a month ago he should not have been back this year after what all went down. Someone was covering for him pretty good.

I don’t want his butt the first place. I was hoping for someone else that didn’t make the final 4. And other regulars here can confirm that. And I have wanted him gone since last season. Especially with all the drama he has created.

Hancock 3rd and 5 2:42 left west defense lets them run for 8 then lets them get another 11. It’s over. If the rumors hold up that will thankfully be the end of the city reynolds era at west jones.

Hancock 14 WJ 7 8:56 left in game. west about to get 2nd pisession of 2nd half. And WJ qb breaks 60 yard run to the Hancock’s 16 on the first play. Follow with run for no gain. Then td pass. 14-14 7:51 remaining west kicker messes up the kick or something it went maybe 10 Hancock returns it 20 it was not onside. Hancock gets 2 yard run then 43 yard td pass. 21-14 Hancock’s 7:01 left

West Jones drive missed fg. Hancock takes over on the 23. west looks to force 3 and out but I guess s penalty gives them the first. I duno he was 3 yards short of first on 3rd down. Then 20 yard pass.

Don’t forget Heidelberg actually pays very well. I don’t think Carter will leave unless it’s for northeast jones or Wayne county. I would be surprised if he went anywhere else.

Assuming west manages to win tonight, picayune will annihilate wests defense. west took over after the dropped td on their 7. 6 runs to Hancock’s 46 then incomplete passes ends up punting to 15. Hancock methodically picks west apart with 1-2 yard passes to the outside or qb running for 4/5 yards and just threw 30 yard td pass. 7-7 2:40 till half west has 16 offensive plays. Hancock had 13 that drive.

Hancock TE drops pass in endzone. WJ takes over on 6-7 yard line.

Especially since wests best guy in the secondary went down vs Hattiesburg and is done for the year. They are down several other leaders as every injury west suffered this year seemed to be on defense.

In the first round game in 23 west had the game in hand by halftime. 3rd a they were subbing in 2nd string with a mixture of starters. In the 4th it was 9th-10rh graders and suddenly Hancock started hurry up offense (with their starters), score, onside kick, score again, onside kick, score again, onside but west recovers. West puts starters back in. While shaking hands some comments were made back and forth that ended with Reynolds basically congratulating him for having fun trying to run over jr high kids and if there’s another opportunity in the future he will remember to leave his starters in and run the score to 60 or more.

West Jones will score as much as they can in this one. Even if there is a rolling clock they won’t stop. Cory Reynolds has beef with Hancock’s head coach from the 2023 game. Like, he may put forward his best coaching job of the year in this one.

All those games except nej/brookhaven are tossups.

He’s been a head coach 1 year. Too early to rate him. But keeping most of the assistants from Vance on staff, with their knowledge of the kids has sure not hurt.

I saw some petal people raising hell wanting coach fired for them getting beat last night. Looking at Northwest rankin almost every game this season was decided by 3 points. They had some upsets. But petal fans blame the coach. Not realizing they are 3/4-6 and sitting home if not for him. They forget how pitiful they were after he left them the first time. They are totally screwed when he goes. The best coaching job in south MS right now, all classes, is Bilderback at Columbia. If he were to leave them (probably not likely) he will win wherever he goes. Picayune and Oak Grove coaches are also top notch in the current group down south. Up north it’s West Point, Louisville, Grenada and Tupelo coaches. Out side of the those coaches, in my opinion, everyone else needs to be worried when/if they got to get a new one.

There are a bunch of “legend” level coaches starting to retire and there are not nearly as many good or even great coaches to fill those spots. Some teams are winning on their kids talent level alone more so than coaching.

South Jones offense went to sleep after the rb broke his leg a month ago.
