Sounds like you need to go take some tours of other facilities just because it is in Petal doesn't mean that it is the best
-
I have been inside Petal's facilities multiple times. If I didn't know about something, I would not comment about it. Petal's facilities are better than most but not the best.
-
It amazes me at how people from Petal think everything they have is bigger and better than everyone else. You will coach at the high classification not level. The facilities are great but not anywhere close to the best in the state.
-
Why would any of these coaches want to leave their current successful programs to take over a complete rebuild with no real talent? Petal is not as good of a job as you think. Yes, it does pay a lot more than most and it does have great facilities, but paychecks and facilities does not guarantee wins.

Since when do players meet on Saturday or Sunday to scout, form a game plan, and make practice schedules for that week? I have personally never seen players who can successfully line up and just win a game without coaching. I guess the Enterprise train runs without a conductor...sorry coach Jimmerson but Enterprise doesn't need you anymore
-
I'm not arguing that the administration is not the best. I agree that something must be off if no coach wants to stay and build up the program. I think it could be a sleeping giant if they found common ground between a good coach and the administration
-
How many coaches have taken that job then had their career go down the drain? The point is that Magee has been a successful program and that it could be a launching pad type job for a young and upcoming coach. They have some real talent walking around that place. I don't know of many places that don't treat coaches bad in the grand scheme of things. They get loaded down with classes and are expected to be a star teacher, win every game, drive a bus route, and pull every extra duty that the school has. I heard a coach say that he makes about $2.25 per hour after you factor in all the extra time/duties they work.
-
I'm pretty sure that you're not from Magee either
-
They might treat coaches "bad" but everybody that has coached there won big then went on to get bigger/better jobs
-
I honestly can't see how WC can afford to keep him much longer. I don't see that move being made during the season because of no administration changes will be made until after the school year.
-
Who are the two men you want to see?
-
Yeah back then it was all about the number of away games you had played not the seeding. I can see pros and cons to both ways of doing it. I think it makes the regular season more meaningful if the higher seeds host, but it can also make a region that was terrible have home field advantage over a region that has 3 state championship contenders in it.
-
That is the way it has been for years. I guess if the 3 or 4 seed makes it through the first two rounds they get rewarded. I recall Wayne County being a 4 seed and hosting 3rd round and south state. The only change that has been made is the north/south state rule
-
Class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A 1. First and second round – higher seed hosts. 2. Third round – If both teams have played an equal number of home matches the home site will be determined by the highest seeded team. If equally seeded teams play and #2 cannot determine a home site, the LOWER number of opponent’s region for the season will be the home team. 3. North/South Championships – highest seed hosts. If equally seeded teams, the LOWER numbered region will host. 4. State Championships South team will be home.

100% truth slick!!! There is no coincidence that ALL athletics, especially football, has went down hill in the last ten years.
-
@slicklizard what is the latest development in Wayne County?
-
Refresh my memory, does Enterprise get the winner of the Phillys/Diamondbacks or is it winner of Rangers/Astros?
-
Do you think PC would have been better off by keeping the coaching staff from last year?
-
The dude should really look into becoming a stand up comedian
-
No other teams has the raw athletes and the incredible coaching staff that enterprise has. I'm willing to bet they win all 7 state championships, the national championship on all the college levels, and win the superbowl. Heck the might even with the world series!
-
They played Scott Central is the fall jamboree. I also forgot about them playing 3a Magee who is always uber talented. I think that schedule will set them up for a really deep run in 1a. The point was that great coaches can perform at their best, but if the players do not respond/execute it doesn't look good.
-
That schedule is stupid hard. Taylorsville is 1a. They played the 1a, 2a, and 3a defending state champs (all compete in 2a this year) along with Simpson (5a private) and Tricounty (4a Private) who both played for the state championship. They also played 2a Mize who went deep in the playoffs last year and a really good 4a West Lauderdale team. I think that schedule will set them up very nicely going into 1a play.
-
I will say that I have seen teams with really good coaching/play calling that do not live up to their potential. Coaches can only instruct players on what to do. It's up to the players to actually go execute on the field. Plus have you looked at the schedule that Taylorsville has? It is one of the hardest schedules in the state.

I really thought that he was going to be the next head coach at Long Beach. The guy must be a pretty good play caller.
-
I bet they would be hanging 40 or 50 on everybody if Brady was still the OC. Does anybody know where he ended up landing after Long Beach?
